I got a message from eBay saying to update my account details.
"It’s now simpler to get paid on eBay
Getting paid has changed: Fees and expenses will be deducted before you get paid out and the remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account, not your PayPal account. Get set up in a few easy steps."
I primarily just tend to leave all the money I receive in my PayPal, so I wanted to ask for clarification: does this mean sellers can no longer use PayPal as a means of payment? We have to store the money in a bank account now?
I also saw something saying eBay raised their fees. Is that also true?
Thanks for clarifying.

Thank you for your input also. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with eBay. I myself am already investigating other possibilities. As I mentioned my account will be frozen from selling on May 29. for not signing up. I'd really like to see a news station report on this issue/story. Well best of luck I hope all goes well for you. Cheers

News stations have had over 2 years to report on this. Clearly they don’t think it’s newsworthy.

That is your Ebay account for selling, NOT your bank account. And what Ebay will do is not allow you to list new listings or make any adjustments [other than to close them] to existing listings.
I've been in MP for awhile now. It works just fine for me. However I fully respect that for some sellers it is hard or impossible to adjust to the delay in receiving the actual cash from the sale.
What is it that you want a news station to report? While some sellers find this news, it is really pretty standard in the industry. All the bigger sites like Ebay have had their own money processing system for years. Ebay is the last of the bigger sites to implement theirs.
You might consider learning more facts about the program, giving it a try for a few weeks and if you find it is still something you can't abide by, then move on to someplace you'd be happier at.
Whatever you decide to do, I wish you well.

I for one hate this new system. I have pulled all my items from EBay and will wit till they have a new pay company in place. I don't want them to use my bank account and I don't trust that they can handle all the potential problems that can arise. I think they made a big mistake not having something in place to replace PayPal before eliminating it. Good luck to all.

Thanks for the input I understand your point of view. I am not happy with the increase in fees and please don't tell its cheaper. Currently above 15.5% I have already found 2 sites much less expensive fee wise.
If I can get a 2nd checking account from my back for free I may keep ebay.
I as a seller do not make that much money for ebay, so they don't really care much about closing my account. I thought its about costumer service, obviously not in this case.
For safety 1st I can not give ebay account info that has my pensions and ss info. NOT going to happen. All the best glad you are happy with the conditions. Happy selling so sad I'm going to be kicked out.
Cheers

I doubt there will be a new system. This new MP system has them in full control. Fees are thru the roof. Not good for the small seller like myself.
Good luck. I'm getting kicked out end of May. Thanks ebay,

PS I did read all the facts and I don't like them.
How are you happy with the fee increase? 12.55% + 2.6% for MP. Ebay already charges for my postal fees. Really? How is that even legal? Now I've seem sellers complain they are being charged a percentage of taxes collected from their buyers. What a nightmare.
All the best.

Many things I've shared with you are not "my point of view" as I have supported them with links to the Ebay policies.
You still have not answered what the "extra" fees are that you stated earlier. And now you are saying the "increase" in fees. The fees in MP for most non store owners is 12.55% and in the DVD category that you sell some of your stuff in, it is 14.55%. I'm not aware of any category that has a 15.5% fee. What category are you selling in that has that fee as I don't see it in the Ebay policy?

No one, to include Ebay, is asking you to attach your main personal account. That is a choice to do that if you are a seller that attaches their main account. NOTHING that is required by Ebay.
I never said that I'm "happy with the conditions". I've tried to explain to you that much of what you have said is assumptions and incorrect information. I've provided you with links to the actual information for the areas in which you have some misunderstandings on how things work. Whether or not I like MP is not material. There are things I like about MP and things I don't. Like millions of other sellers, I was absolutely fine using PP, but unfortunately that is no longer an option.

I don't think so as you are incorrect about the fees. There is NOTHING in the links I gave you that says the fees are as you describe here. The 12.55% fee is all inclusive. There is NO ADDITIONAL fee of 2.6% for MP. Where in the policies I gave you did you read this. Please provide a link.
As far as a FVF on shipping, Ebay [and all sites similar in size to Ebay] have charged this for many years. In particular, Ebay, has charged it for over 10 years now.

With PayPal processing payment, sellers were being charged the payment receiving fee as 2.9% + $0.30 per order, but with eBay Managed Payments, you would be charged 2.35% + $0.30 per order. So, you can say that you will save 0.55% on your every order. For example, if you receive a payment of $100 to your PayPal you were being charged $3.20 ($2.90 + $0..30). With eBay you will only be charged $2.65 ($2.35 + $0.30)
Okay this is from a 20 min conversation I had with an Ebay rep. Please read his last line.
The rep went on to tell me other fees involved in transaction. Now a very short time ago SORRY I don.t know how long 3 to 6 months the commiss fee was 10% NOW 12.55%
And no the other site I sell on does NOT charge me extra for postage.
And NO I do NOT have an ebay store. Maybe thats why I get an extra hit.
Sorry I cannot mention any site names as I always follow ebay regulations.
Wish you well no need to respond as I understand your position. Maybe I'll get a 2nd checking acct just for ebay. Time will tell as I am new to the sites I signed on to so I want to give them a shot first.

You really need to do your homework. You keep making assumptions about the MP program that simply are not true. This is just yet another one.
Once a seller is in MP, the fees charged in MP will be the ONLY fees charged to the seller. The seller is NOT charged any PP fees from the moment the seller enters the MP program. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
You clearly misunderstood something when you talked to the CSR.
AS of April 1st, Ebay raised FVFs site wide, whether the seller is in MP or not, by 0.20%. This is NOT MP specific, it is for the entire site with just a few category exceptions.
So if you take 10.20% that regular Ebay charges from most categories for sellers that do not have a Store plus 2.35% money processing fee [NO LONGER paid to PP] totals 12.55%
For those not yet in MP they pay the 10.20% plus 2.9% to PayPal because they are processing their payments for a total of 13.10% Which is 0.55% higher than the fees paid in MP.
Both MP and PP charge a 30 cent per transaction fee. So depending on which is your processor determines who gets the 30 cent fee.
I have never said you have a store. That is easy to see when anyone reviews your account. And NO you don't get ANY extra hit in MP because you don't have a store. I've given you the link for the Fees policy at least twice before for non store owners. It is all explained there.
What other sites do you sell on?
That is not true. You can mention other site names here. You just aren't allowed to encourage someone or promote that someone posts on those other sites, but it is find to mention them in this context.

Wow you are extremely knowledgeable about the new program.
Thanks so much. I guess all the figures the rep. Texted me in our conversation are completely wrong. I only sent one tiny part of a 20 min question and answer segment. I will check it out and get back to you soon.
I'll also see if I can open another free checking acct with my bank to use exclusively for eBay.
They are not getting my main account.

Hi just a quick update I checked the fees for my last sale on eBay minus PayPal. On a $35 item they charged me 12.25% commission so now add in MP transaction fee 2.35%I think you said or PayPal 2.9% that's almost a 15% commission. Add in my time, packing material , drive to thePO.
Also just had another 10 minute conversation with another eBay rep and his figures are exactly the same as the first rep I spoke to last week. Those of which I sent you a couple of messages ago. So the info I am receiving is directly from eBay I am not reading anything wrong. Best of luck I don't think this is for me. Cheers
Thanks for your knowledgeable input very appreciated.

No that isn't exactly what I said. Once you are in MP you will no longer pay any PP fees for money processing on your Ebay sales. Not a single penny will a seller pay PP. The only fees will be through MP.
As I previously stated for most [not all] categories, for sellers without a store, the FVF in MP is 12.55%. That amount INCLUDES the money processing fees and the FVF for Ebay. They call it a Simplified Fee.
It breaks down like this. 10.20% FVF on the total sale plus 2.35% money processing fee = 12.55%
I don't know why you are having such bad luck getting advice from an Ebay CSR. What they seem to be telling you flies in the face of the facts in which you can see anytime you want on the Policy Pages of Ebay. Here is the link again for your ease.

I am in the same boat. I will have to find a different place to sell. Any ideas where to go? (paypal friendly for sellers)
Thank you in advance
