I got a message from eBay saying to update my account details.
"It’s now simpler to get paid on eBay
Getting paid has changed: Fees and expenses will be deducted before you get paid out and the remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account, not your PayPal account. Get set up in a few easy steps."
I primarily just tend to leave all the money I receive in my PayPal, so I wanted to ask for clarification: does this mean sellers can no longer use PayPal as a means of payment? We have to store the money in a bank account now?
I also saw something saying eBay raised their fees. Is that also true?
Thanks for clarifying.

That isn't accurate. You can have a handling time all the way up to 30 days.
The options are:
1 Business Day
2 Business Days
3 Business Days
4 Business Days
5 Business Days
10 Business Days
15 Business Days
20 Business Days
30 Business Days

You need to use a PC and not the app, thank you for the reply.

Because of this I will be leaving EBAY at the end of the month. I liked getting paid right away for my items. I don't like waiting 72 hours to get my money.

WHAT?
PC or App, no difference.
FYI, I use a Desktop for everything never a mobile device of any kind.
This is just Ebay's structure and options on handling times. It really doesn't matter whether you agree or not, it is factual.

"seller has the right to decide for themselves if they want to go into MP or not." That is a disingenuous statement, it implies I have an option and can remain a ebay seller. Either I get on board with Managed Pay or leave, go somewhere else, we don't want you any more. That is clear.
Clearly ebay wants to capture the revenue Paypal had and don't care how it may impact sellers. If that is a further instance of kicking sellers to the curb so be it.
If you left MP as an option, I would fully support your decision. I have no doubt there are sellers who this could work out well for but that is not the case as your message implies.

No it isn't "disingenuous". It is a choice for every seller to make, stay or go. That is a choice.
It isn't that Ebay doesn't want you anymore, it is a direction they are moving the entire site. The same way ALL the other larger sites did years ago. Ebay is the last of the larger sites to move this direction, not the first. The only way you will get away from a site having some type of managed payment policy is to go to a much smaller site.
Ebay is a for profit company and always has been. Their desire to make profits is no more unique that every single seller comes here to sell and make a profit. It is why we are ALL here.
I get it, it is a HUGE change. That coupled with leaving a site like PP which is a full Wallet type program to one that is just a basic money processing system only adds to the issues about switching. It is a very hard change for many.

Omg....I had to read this a dozen times to make sure I was actually seeing this correctly. You call that a choice? Are you serious? Basically conform to what we demand or adios? You say that's a choice?
mam98031 says: "you have a choice. Enter MP and continue to sell on Ebay or don't enter MP and stop selling on Ebay. "
WOW. You are incorrect. A "choice" would be to choose between two options(or more). There are no options here for sellers. Its take MP, or no more selling. You said it yourself.
You just made the case to leave Ebay so much clearer.

Amen! I learned a long time ago to be so cautious online buying/selling. I've shopped for many items using only prepaid gift cards as to NOT have anything tied to my bank accounts. That's just plain ignorant IMO. This is bad news for sellers. Ebay has always been buyer centric, most sellers will attest. The sellers have always and will continue to get the short end. Its a money grab, plain and simple. Ebay is cutting out anyone who was getting part of the action. This has zero benefit to anyone, except Ebay.

WHAT? Since when does "choice" mean that it is only a choice if the options are things you like. I'm not wrong. You do have a choice to make and lots of sellers are making that choice for what is best for them and their businesses. Something that each of us will have to do at some point like it or not.
If selling on Ebay isn't profitable for you, then your choice is likely the right one for you. If selling on Ebay is profitable for you, then you should reconsider your choice. You will find that sites similar to Ebay have have had their own money processing programs for years. To continue to use PP you will need to create your own website or go to a much smaller site similar to this one. Your choice is to do what is best for your little business. I wish you well in whatever you decide to do.

I sell clutter in my house/garage. lol. No way I'm linking my bank account to ebay for a few bucks a year...
It was nice using Paypal which only had a credit card linked to it.
Oh well, like normal they don't care about the little guy. Yet let Chinese fake products all over.
