How to make the payment?
eBay requires that the payment to be done through eBay Cards and they can be purchased
with cash or debit/credit card at thousands of stores nationwide including Local Post Offices, Target,
CVS/pharmacy, Safe Way, Food City, Rite Aid, etc..
Now you can use eBay Cards to pay for items instantly. eBay Cards lets you enjoy the benefits
of eBay without PayPal or Bank Account – avoid charges and delays.
Find a store near you and go to it with cash. Go to the Prepaid Product Section and pick up as
many eBay Cards, as you need to complete your payment, and take them to the register.
You can add only up to $200.00 onto an eBay Card. For your purchase you need to buy as many eBay
Cards as you need in order to complete the total price of the item. The cashier will collect your cash and
load it into each eBay Card.
For your purchase of $1.200.00 you need to buy 6 eBay Cards loaded with $200.00 each. And I load a $300 card to eBay for this vehicle not eBay did not return my message and they say it the card is empty

Beware scammers who advertise on other sites and tell you that the transaction will be handled through eBay.

That is not how eBay works. eBay does not rely on users finding ads on Facebook or other sites and sending contact information to a seller. Likely the seller will send a phony "invoice" that appears to be from eBay but is not, asking you to pay with gift cards to have the vehicle shipped to you for a free evaluation period.

eBay has no warehouse and does not ship vehicles. eBay does not handle such transactions or provide "vehicle protection orders". Scammers often promise those things, though. Any phone number you may receive on such an "invoice" does not connect to eBay, but to the scammer.

Anyone that asks you to purchase gift cards or to send card codes to them to complete a transaction is trying to take advantage of you. Anyone asking for a gift card is looking for a gift at your expense. Once anyone else knows the code, your money will be gone and you will have no recourse.

The only way to purchase a vehicle on eBay is to sign in to eBay, find the vehicle on eBay and complete the checkout process on eBay, so that the item appears in your Purchase History. Then you typically meet the seller to inspect the vehicle, pay the seller, and collect the keys, title and vehicle.

If you encountered an ad on another site, contact that site to have the ad removed. eBay is not involved with any ads listed on sites other than eBay itself.

You did not find this vehicle listed on eBay, maybe CL or FB?

You bought the cards and gave the numbers to the scammer.

eBay was NOT involved in this transaction in any way.

Sorry to tell you this, but you've been scammed.  eBay gift cards are not traceable.

I see the address as Ft. Belvoir.  Did he claim to be a soldier about to be deployed?

Big fat scam and an old one to boot. Gift cards are nonrefundable and untraceable, thats why scammers love them. Im sorry but your money is gone.

SCAM !!  Liar ,  thief and words not allowed here.    No such thing as  a buyer protection order.  eBay never assists in sales or payments of items on other sites.    eBay NEVER says to pay with gift cards. They leave that choice to the buyer.   Never pay for anything with gift cards as they offer NO protection at all.

Ebay had nothing to do with it. They cannot and will not reimburse you.

@trael-4574  IF you GAVE the scammers your gift card information, your $$$ is gone.

This has zero to do with eBay.

You did not find this scam on eBay. You found it on CL or MP.

They took your $ because you were looking for a too good to be true item and you fell for it.

eBay has nothing to do with this AND did NOT send you any information. This is a fake and a scam.

Sorry, if you gave the thieves the card numbers, the money is gone.

All you can do is report the ad to the site you found it on and file a police report, but nothing will get your money back.

Have a great day.
