Hi there y’all.

I’ll cut to the chase. eBay wrongfully permanently suspended my account from selling. Essentially I had amassed an amount I owed them, and didn’t pay it for like 2 months, cause I had life stuff go on. I contact them and they’re all like “oh yes, just pay this and your account will be reinstated.” I pay them the $2K that I owe them. I’m not arguing that payment amount.

anyway, I have an active store subscription this whole time I’ve been paying. After I pay them the 2K, they reinstate my account. A couple days later they sending me a notice saying that my account is high risk and they permanently ban it from selling.

my store subscription is still active, but I’m permanently banned. I contact eBay regarding canceling my store since I physically can’t use it. They tell me I can cancel it but I’ll have to pay the cancelation amount since I’m ending it before the contract date, which to me is confusing because I can’t even use the service.

Anyway, they charge me $150 or so to cancel it, and I obviously don’t get much of a say in that. Curious what I should do. Accept it? Dispute with my bank? I called eBay already and basically they just say “that’s how it works.” But none of them can give me a clear answer on how it works except “I signed a contract” which I get, except for the fact I can’t use the part of the service, so they just basically want me to keep paying for something I can’t use.

You’ve had two suspensions for counterfeit goods , and a third for not paying your bill. How is this permanent suspension “wrongful”?

Try contacting them on Facebook to see if they’ll reverse the cancellation fee.

You got a discount on the monthly fee for your store, because you committed to keeping the store (and paying the discounted fees) for a full year.

If you don't keep the store open for a year, then you aren't entitled to the discount, of course. If the store is closed early, then you have to pay a cancellation fee, which basically amounts to paying the full price for your store for the months that you had it. The cancellation fee is basically the sum of the discounts that you should not have gotten for the months that you had the store open. Why should you get the discount if you don't fulfill the requirements for it.

With those negatives too, they probably wanted to suspend you earlier but they wanted to get their fees first. Pay the fee if you want to cancel. You did not fulfill your agreement to pay and ship promptly and take care of your buyers. Goodluck .
