eBay Quietly Making Improvements to Managed Payments?

Starting earlier this week I'm consistently seeing 1 business day processing time on payments where previously it was always at least 2 business days.

I also saw this post on Reddit showing eBay may be making changes to show the fee percentages as well as totals in the transaction details, though I haven't personally seen this yet myself.

Is anyone else seeing improved processing times or changes to the transaction details page like this?

I wasn't seeing the fee percentages displayed like that this morning, but can confirm I am now, so it appears to be another phased rollout.

I'll give eBay kudos for that one - tyler@ebay  please pass on a big thank you to payments_team@ebay or whoever is responsible for that change! 👏👏👏

I was confused when I first saw it.  It looked like the 'special promotion' was an additional charge for some kind of promotion until I worked out the math and saw it was a subtraction to the final fee and not an addition.  Perhaps they should call it "Special promotion discount or better yet Top Rated Seller Promotion" and show it as a negative add instead of an additional add to the total.  If you don't do the math it is rather confusing to see it like this.

@d.amber  good catch! I absolutely agree "special promotion" should be changed to something like Top Rated Seller Discount.

It's interesting, the account I can see it on now doesn't break out the before discount calculation like it did in that Reddit post.

Here's what I'm seeing

I think it would definitely be helpful if they showed the pre-discount total on the right ($80.19 x 10.7% = $8.58), then showed the TRS+ "promo" as a discount, then showed the total so you could look down that right side and clearly see $8.58 - $0.86 = $7.72

Your funds status is a farce mister ZERO transactions. Once you've hit 'Available' status, you have to wait for the next 'Payout' day. Then after you've reached 'Payout' status, the money is transferred to your bank which takes another 1-3 business days. Getting paid with Paypal, you had INSTANT access to your funds when the buyer paid to transfer, keep in Paypal, or withdraw with a Paypal debit card. So when you say Ebay's Managed Payments is an improvement, I don't know WHAT you're talking about? A detailed fee report? The percentage of FVF depends on the category you're selling in and that depends on the product you're selling. I would rather have access to my funds IMMEDIATELY like before.

Woah there @kodiak8658 - I suggest putting the bear claws away, taking a deep breath and reading posts completely before responding.

By the way, I'm a Mrs. not a Mr. 😉

Also, lots of people here use posting IDs, not their selling or buying IDs - if you take some time to read some of my other posts you'll find I have a 15 year+ history selling on eBay both as an individual and while working for several large multi-million dollar multi-channel ecommerce companies.

And finally if you at least take the time to read my posts in this thread, you'll see that nowhere did I say Managed Payments is an improvement over PayPal.  In fact, you'll notice I didn't say anything about PayPal at all.

What I did say is that I  noticed some recent changes to Managed Payments that may be a slight improvement vs what I was seeing previously with Managed Payments.

If you'd like to discuss PayPal vs Managed Payments, there are already many threads on that topic you could jump into or feel free to start one of your own - that just wasn't what was being discussed here.

@valueaddedresource - I have been itching to talk about this for a few weeks, ever since they previewed it for us! I kept my mouth shut because the phased rollout wasn't fully decided yet, but am so glad to see it start.

Being able to see this kind of detailed, simple breakdowns brings clarity to something that has been confusing for all of us (myself very  much included), I'll make sure this gets to the right folks.

I'll also get the message about the discount label tag - I like your suggested wording. 🙂

Tyler,
