eBay Not Paying Out Since New Year

Hi All,

I'm having an issue where I've received payment from buyers on multiple transactions and the funds show up as available (not blocked or processing), but eBay isn't paying them out to my bank. It's odd because I've made sales in the past and received payments to the same account with no issue. I've made several calls to customer service but not having any success in getting paid, which is of course very frustrating. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as who to contact at eBay for a resolution?

Thanks!

Good deal-hope you get you money owed.

This is what "they" want me to do-apparently there are a LOT of stories so they don't have to pay you. I asked for a list of "approved" banks- silence. I asked them to send me a check- silence.

"To resolve the issue, it would require updating your bank account to a different one. I understand this is not the most convenient option, but it would resolve the holds and funds could be released right away after the new account added passes verification.

As we grow our Payments program we identify new risk factors that will change the relationship we have with a bank.  We truly don't want to cause an inconvenience, but we have an obligation to continue to keep eBay a safe and secure marketplace above all else. This doesn't mean their bank is insecure, or that there is anything wrong with it, just that eBay and the bank don't necessarily "see eye-to-eye"."

So now they don't like your bank and want you to find another bank? Humm .... is this just the beginning of the set-up for when Adyen becomes a real bank for the masses in US and suddenly it will solve every seller's problems by becoming an Adyen bank customer?

You got that from a few sellers being told they needed to use another bank while it is likely that most of the 19 million sellers were fine with the banks they attached??

No, it wasn't just that. It was also all the need to see everything on a person's bank statement.  Multiple sellers have posted that they would not accept a bank statement with anything blacked out. Just why would eBay have any interest in everything that is one a person's bank statement since it would have nothing to do with selling. I'm pretty sure what I spend each month for electricity would be none of their business.

I also got my payouts started again, with the first one in my bank again today.

Whatever the reason, an ebay glitch, banking issues, incorrect entry of SSN, its comforting to know that so many people here try to help.

With the experiences I have had with ebay customer service over this issue I can only hope at some point ebay manages to find a way to at least get their customer service to be consistent in what they tell the customer. Personally I was told several different reasons why the payout was not happening and you guys here were also told similar.

So thank you to all who tried to help with this issue.

Have a great day everyone.

That is a separate question.  One in which I've asked about myself but have not yet received an answer.

As I have posted earlier in this thread there are several DIFFERENT reasons why a seller's money may be on hold.  There is NOT a one size fits all reasons for holds on various sellers.  Whether or not you agree with that is a separate issue.  I did post where Ebay spells this out too.  So if this is something you choose not to acknowledge, then that is simply your preference.  It doesn't however make what I've said as inaccurate.

There are some on this thread that got caught up in some kind of bug that Ebay admitted to.  That is clear.  In the beginning of this thread I was not aware of that as we discussed it more and Velvet stopped by more came to light.  So some sellers on this thread seemed to be caught up in the bug.

But that didn't hold true for all the sellers on this thread with holds on their funds.

Whatever the issue each seller is having, I sincerely hope they are all worked out soon.

I have the same experience.  My last payout was on 1/21.  The same day, eBay asked me to verify my SSN, phone number, and email address.  I did so and received a message stating that I had just done what was necessary to remove any blocks from making future payouts.  On 1/23 customer service told me to expect a payout on 1/24.  On 1/24 and 1/25 eBay customer service "escalated" my ticket (but the 2nd couldn't see any previous contact from me about this issue) . Now it's almost 1/26 and I still have no payouts scheduled.  All we can do is wait.  Why doesn't eBay make a public admission that they have a  bug preventing  sellers from receiving payments?    Wouldn't it be more efficient to let sellers get back to listing items instead of wasting so much time with customer service and on message boards?

I had this same issue, I received a message on jan 25th from ebay telling me to enter my full 9 digit SSN after $600 sales and I went a entire day of available funds and no scheduled payout date. Without any red banner saying my payouts were on hold. Theres usually a red banner saying your payouts are on hold if theres any issues blocking payouts. So after reading this forum i was worried seeing people go days and even weeks with no payout date. I woke up with morning with a payout date. I guess im very lucky. Ebay needs to tell us whats going on. They are always silent until they find the issue. They should have a system to immediately verify someones information, like a car dealership. eBay is a billion dollar company where is all the money GOING. Update your systems!!

The common denominator is eBay- whether it's a game to see how long they can hold onto your money or incompetence- neither is a good answer.

Just sayin- I don't see any Chinese sellers having an issue with payouts.

You explained your holds on another thread.  What happened to you was not for the same reason as the OP of this thread.  They and a couple other sellers got caught up in a bug in the system.  While I completely understand why you are upset and concerned, you have every right to be.  All I'm saying is the reasons for your hold was different because of the MC011 you received.

I am NOT trying to take away for the problems you have endured, I am only saying that your issues have been different than the OPs.

No it isn't.  Sellers do misbehave sometimes.  It happens.  I've dealt with some myself when buying something.  Of course the common denominator is Ebay.  Who else would it be, this is their site.

IDK anything about sellers from China having hold issues.  I simply do not keep up with them or where they may be posting issues.  I've never notices them posting on this forum before.  The sellers in China are also in MP.

Please provide a link to where the sellers from China post their concerns or problems.  I've simply never visited whatever site that is.

No you have it all wrong. I just commented on that thread because I went through the same issue. The other thread was for periodic performance review. Which causes a mc011 restriction. Ive gone through that plenty of times.

But im on this thread because I had the exact same issue as the OP. I have never had available funds before and no scheduled payout date. Its usually a red banner on top of payments explaining why the payouts are on hold.

"No scheduled payout after entering full 9 digit SSN" but the issue is fixed now. I now have a payout date. I just stopped by to tell everyone I had the same issue thats all.

Periodic Reviews have only been around for about a year or so and do not always result in the seller getting and MC011.

OK I'm glad your issue or issues are resolved and sorry if I misunderstood your other post.

Thanks everyone for your contributions. I finally received my cleared payment today and thankfully it looks as though the problem has been resolved for many, if not all of us.

My purpose in starting this thread was to 1) see if others were experiencing the same payout issue, 2) to make sure eBay was aware of the issue and get them to address it. It was helpful to know that I wasn't alone. I just wish eBay had been quicker to fix the problem and that they had been more upfront about the cause, offering status updates along the way and communicating internally so the CSR's could be all on the same page. It also would be nice if eBay considered waiving the fees for these delayed transactions as it was a major inconvenience.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem there's any one solution to get funds released. If you're still having issues, I'd suggest escalating the complaint as far as you can go with a CSR over the phone, at least so they know you're experiencing the issue and can hopefully get the tech/verification team to add you to a ticket. Also note that @westchestervillage had success when they re-entered their banking info.

And of course feel free to keep the thread going if you continue to experience issues.

eBay Not Paying Out Since New Year

The issue is, while I understand eBay and Paypal had a contract that ended nearly 2 years ago now, the new system is lacking big time.

With Paypal, I got paid as soon as the buyer paid.  I had transparency, it would show exactly who the buyer was, their address, and how much I got (minus sellers fees).

Now, eBay takes your seller fees from your first sale, for example, I sold an item for $132.86, they took my selling fees from all items I just posted, leaving me with a whole $20.35 profit after taxes, selling fees for all other items, and the cost of the auction.

They should allow you to pay it like before, but nope....your money gets held for 2-4 days (pending no issue), yet you have to ship it out the following day with your own money (more money out of your own pocket, which there is a chance you may not have at the time).

eBay has already been littered with scammers, they side with the buyer automatically so there is always a risk your expensive items can be scammed from you.  You should be fully protected by eBay, but they do not care as long as you keep giving them money.

Now, we get paid by an inferior (in every single way) system, less transparency, they hold your money for 2-4 days (or more if an issue).  They should have came up with their own system with a card that works like Paypal, where you get paid immediately.  Instead, with all the millions they make off us, we got this utter nonsense as a "replacement" for Paypal!  eBay has never been known for great customer service to begin with.

Those saying, "Deal with it" (nice, by the way!) we already are dealing with it!  This sucks and I expected much better from eBay!  I no longer feel as comfortable selling on eBay and a person/company would make a killing if they could come up with a site that has better customer service and a better payout system!

The numerous post I have read recently- are NOT misbehaving sellers.  They jump through every hoop- and are still being denied they money.

You totally missed the point about the Chinese sellers.  You probably ought to try out some searches- US only  and the "default." Take a look at what Amazon has done with their search algorithms. It's also OK for them to say it's in a US warehouse-and ship it from China with no dings.

That is good and BTW I never said they were.

With that said, there have been a few posts from sellers having the Periodic Performance Review that did get caught doing something they should not have been doing.  You may have missed those posts, but they are out there.  The majority of sellers are good honest sellers that work hard to make a few bucks.

A again did not miss your point.  Because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I missed anything.

" It's also OK for them to say it's in a US warehouse-and ship it from China with no dings."  No it is not and how would you know if the seller got any sanctions for that?  Dings or defects do not apply for this kind of breach of the selling rules for any seller no matter where they are located.  But it can get them sanctioned.  However Ebay has to catch them doing it.  For that to happen Ebay is dependent upon buyers reporting the seller.
