delivery date

i have bought an item that had an estimated del date of approx 2 weeks(before end of this month). after i checked out and contacted the seller it is now into april for delivery. now i dont have a problem with the date but i was wondering about my safety net with ebay if it goes belly up. i was thinking of asking them to cancel this order and issue another with the revised date on.  any thoughts?
