The usual way motor vehicle sales are handled on eBay is that the buyer goes to the location of the car, inspects it. He can either hand over the money in cash or a cashier's check and the seller hands over the keys and title, or he can decide not to buy and simply walk away.
On eBay, the buyer doesn't pay through Paypal for a car.

Pay only through the official eBay checkout page.
See this for information on escrow.

I know it's not the usual way but this isn't my first rodeo. Besides the Paypal guaranty and 2% cash back from my credit card, I messaged with seller and feel good about the deal.

I hope you didn't cra p in your hat. WHAT PayPal guarantee? Go read the PayPal user agreement.
Vehicles are ineligible for buyer purchase protection. That means even when using a PayPal issued credit card you're not protected. ESCROW.com is the safest way to pay for a car if you're afraid it won't be delivered. They don't get the money until the seller can prove delivery. Escrow.com doesn't become involved in not as described disputes after it's been delivered so you better be getting it inspected before you pay.
A seller that pressures you for such a fast payment is a seller you want to run from.
