What I hate!

eBay wants to be more like a store but does not require immediate payment on all purchases.  It makes me angry when someone comes along and asks for a discount or makes a lower offer than the listed price and then doesn't make payment for several days.   How about those that want you to jump through hoops to sell a $6.00 item and they are not required to leave you any feedback or have the courtesy of saying a simple "Thank You" for all your trouble answering 50 questions and/or shipping right away to receive for a special birthday present in time for that special day.

I think eBay thinks we are all professional Jewelers with all the questions under the "Item Descriptions."   You must answer all the questions regardless of whether your item contains "No Stones."   They should separate diamonds vs other stones and plain metal items under the jewelry categories.  It takes me more time to answer these questions since to "Enter Your Own" answer requires using the drop-down box and most times this selection is at the end of the long line.  Who cares about the color unless the person is color blind.   Color blindness only affects less than .5% of the male population.  Don't the pictures show the colors of the item?  Let me select "Multicolors" from the drop-down box.  Why post pictures, if the person cannot see that the item has multiple colors.   How many are spending $100.00 for a jewelry appraisal to sell a diamond under 1/4 of a carat?   Especially set in 14K gold?  Most buyers find it difficult to purchase anything with a stone above 90% of the scrap gold value unless it is a high-end or name brand maker or a very rare item.

Maybe these item descriptions are being used since many people do not know how to spell anymore?  Just like people cannot do simple math without a calculator nowadays.   Why write anything in the listing?  Won't the item description give you all the information you need?   Maybe I will give that a try to reduce my time posting.

I hate the eBay Payout system.  Your funds were available immediately with Pay Pal.  Now you may wait a week or more to receive your payments.  Payers that for some unknown reason can't pay until they receive their SSN or Welfare check or their regular paycheck or chose not to pay until the very last minute are very annoying.  Yet, I have one business day to ship.  Once payment is made, eBay has to process and then send it to your bank.   That can take another 2 or 3 days.  So now we are into a second week to receive payment.  Even now that eBay sends money to your bank on weekends, the bank does not process these transactions until Tues. or Wed.  Just like they were sent on a Monday.   Suggestion:  Don't depend on eBay to pay any of your bills unless it is for next month's bills.

Posting on eBay is truly becoming a  complicated, twisted, and time-consuming endeavor with long delays in receiving payments from buyers and from eBay.  This all makes for a very frustrating selling experience.

Re: What I hate!

To the best of my knowledge, any eBay seller can list any item with fixed price, immediate payment required.

And there is absolutely no reason to wait as long as a week to be paid when a seller can cancel after4 days of nonpayment, citing "buying didn't pay" as the reason.

You have 5806 feedback and are a top-rated seller, so  would have assumed you would have this knowledge.

Re: What I hate!

Of course, I have this knowledge.  However, to wait 4 days for a buyer to pay.  Plus 2 or 3 days for eBay to process and send to your bank.  The bank takes a day to process your money and the money is finally available to you on the second or third day.  Add this up and you arrive at a minimum of  7 to 9 days.   I usually do not require immediate payment on Buy It Now listings, since some prefer to ask for a shipping discount.  I have since changed all my Buy It Now to require immediate payment and will not give a combined shipping discount.

There is a benefit to listing as an auction when you really do not know the value of an item.   But sellers think they have they can pay whenever they want within a prescribed time period.  I do not have that luxury to ship at my convenience since I am required to ship within 24 hours of payment or the next business day.  If I do not do so, I get a defect for late shipment.  Where is the flexibility for a seller?   Almost all rules apply to sellers but buyers have a wide range of latitude with opening for deceptions.  Such as ieBays "Item not as described."  Sellers know what I am referring to in this situation.   I appreciate your comments but why should I have to list all my items as a BUY IT NOW and require immediate payment.  I should have the flexibility to list in any manner available to me and expect expedient payment for all my sales.
