Weekly Payouts are made every Tuesday in managed Payments, and they will NOT allow Sellers to pick which day of the week they want their Weekly Payouts ... I know because I asked.
Most of my sales are on weekends, eBay knows that of course because they have the sales history ... I would surmise they wrote algorithms early on to determine the best Weekly Payout day for them that would pay Seller something but retain $$ for them for another week. They didn't just say. "oh, lets make Tuesday the Weekly Payout day!"
Since Aug 7 there have only been 3 weeks where 100% was paid from the previous week ... and one of those was that double payment Tuesday after they had that Daily Payout glitch on the preceding Monday ... October around a holiday if memory serves. They have withheld between 5% - 60$ of monies owed.
This week they withheld 22% and sometime in the AM before 8 they sent their message that a Payout was sent (NOT the money- just the message). At 9 AM I checked the Payments tab and another 6% shifted from Pending to Available ... then at 1 PM I checked again and the remaining 16% shifted ... so BEFORE the end of the business day and on their designated Payout Day 100% was Available but they won't send any more then what they ended with late Monday night.
So here's where it gets interesting. before entering MP I signed up with a new bank and spoke to them at length about timing of them processing 3rd party electronic payments from when it first appears on their servers ... they were very open about their process. Payments made early in the day (like before opening) get processed and posted the same day, they might show "pending" but they get posted ... payments that come in to their servers later in the day post the next day. Well, just after 6 PM I checked my online banking and NO MONEY! NO PENDING PAYMENT! NOTHING!
So to me Tuesday, the Weekly Payout day, is ALL day, not the night before for final calculations ... to me all the $$ that switched from Pending to Available on Tuesday should be paid out by days end Tuesday ...

Don't let the weekly payouts be the John Wilkes Booth of your cash flow.
I opted for daily payouts in order to prevent MP from holding 5 to 60% for a week.
The 23 daily payouts per month don't clutter my bookkeeping very much.
@onlinecentral GOOD ONE! I like the historical reference for sure! Here's one point ... eBay knows when most sales occur ... eBay is NOT letting Weekly Payout members pick which day they want their payout ... something's rotten in Denmark considering they are willing to pay Daily Payout members every "Business" day. So what's the bid deal if Weekly Payout members want to be paid on Wed or Thur? They don't do things without a reason and watching my cash flow since day 1 I think the reason is clear ... they are intentionally holding money.

I just signed up and chose weekly payouts, had my first sale Sunday and the payment was in my checking account this morning.

If they gave us the option to pick the day of the week I'm might choose Wednesday, but I'm not unhappy with Tuesday.
@mam98031, @kensgiftshop Weekly Payouts work fine for me too from a logistical standpoint, its just what they decide to pay each week which is at issue here. There is NO reason why Sellers can't pick which day of the week they want their Weekly Payout, THAT inflexibility makes no sense considering they are willing to pay DAILY (Business days of course) if you want ... so why the inflexibility? The only reason to me is that they want to hold money. And looking at the chronology of money changing from Pending to Available ON the Payout Day is aggravating ... for this week, by 1 PM EST (10 AM Pacific eBay time) the rest of the money withheld became Available ... so, since Tuesday is Payout Day ... pay that money!

The payout schedule might have something to do with Adyen also.
The other site I sell on that uses the same program, is the same way, but their weekly payout is on Mondays.
I agree, it would be nice if we could select the day we want our payouts done.

@kensgiftshop Yes, I agree ... If I get a chance to post that request today on the Weekly Chat I will and will be happy to know that they will "pass that on to the department that handles it" for a possible future "enhancement" to MP ... and IF (and I emphasize "if") it were to get approved I am confident it will be implemented sometime in the latter half of ............................... 2025. So is that a little sarcastic? You bet it is!

I might be the crazy one here but I would like to choose less than once a week. I tried daily and the bookkeeping on that was too much. I would prefer twice a month like the the 15th and 30th. I know crazy but when working in an office I preferred paychecks that way too.

@littlesnoop Not crazy at all ... eBay implies they are willing to help:
To me that means working with Sellers on their preferred methods of payment as well as the timing of said payments, etc. Somehow with MP I'm not really feeling the "selling partner" love ...
If twice a month works for you then you should have that option, PERIOD.

I would actually prefer it if they did away with a "set in stone" daily/weekly payout schedule altogether and allowed sellers to decide when they want to withdraw and how much. I honestly don't give a rats if they make interest on the 'held in escrow' funds.
I'm tired of having 2 day handling but being forced to ship faster to beat the payout schedule which sends me the money but leaves me without enough in my "seller account" to pay for labels, not to mention having to make sure I have funds in my payment account to cover refunds etc.
Of course, that would entail ebay giving the sellers permission to "withdraw" funds. I can see why they wouldn't want that. (Even though THEY want the right to withdraw as well as deposit from OUR accounts).
I wonder if they even begin to realize how many sales they're missing out on because once the money's in a bank account sellers aren't as likely to use their funds from sales to make purchases here?
Probably not. They can't seem to wrap their heads around so many realities, the least of which is that sellers are most often also buyers.

I know this has been said a lot since Ebay started describing themselves as our "partner". As with other things on Ebay, they take liberties with the definitions of some words and give them a unique twist. This is one of them. To be my "partner", they would have to be sharing in my profits and my losses at a minimum. Ebay is a venue. They are my vendor that I have chosen to use their services. IMHO they are not my "partner" but my vendor plain and simple. They simply overstep in trying to use "partner" to mean what they want it to mean.

@mam98031 Well said ... about the only thing I would change is "overstep" to "broad jumping" or maybe even "pole vaulting" ... but then that's just my humble opinion acting up again ...

Well that's really weird.
I swear my reply post was not showing up yesterday at all. I even looked on my profile and didn't see it, yet here it is.

Have you considered changing it to daily payouts direct deposit to your bank?
09-10-2021 05:18 AM
Agreed. Much like a company’s payroll. They have a cutoff because of the processing time.
