Hello, I have a question about VAT. The seller is from Spain, I’m from Bulgaria so both countries are within EU. On the bill there is 20% VAT. I’ve never paid VAT when buying from Spain or any other EU country. Does anybody know why now there is VAT on the total bill? Maybe there is some recent change regarding VAT?

I have the same problem and I can't figure out reading around internet what is the problem. I am from Bulgaria and seller from France. It still shows VAT on checkout. If anyone have answer please.

Initially I have asked the eBay support and they confirmed that there should
be no VAT and this is a system glitch. They advised me to purchase the item and then to ask for VAT refund. Unfortunately when I asked for a VAT refund afterwards , it was declined with an explanation that the listing is from Canary Island not from Spain actually (I have screenshots from the original listing, clearly visible that the location is Spain). Then I raised a PayPal case and they also declined with the following statement: “Everything is correct”. So please don’t make the purchase and ask the seller to create another listing until you see no VAT at checkout, and don’t believe eBay or PayPay - they simply don’t care…
