The new give us your debit card, get your payout in 30 minutes is bogus?

Hey y'all. So has anyone else set up the new payout option they offered last month where if you enter your debit card info and set it as your preferred payout type and you'll get your payout usually within 30 minutes? I did. My card was verified with their 2 small deposits and the 1st 2 sales I made after that I got my payout super fast and within 30 minutes. Now however, I made a sale yesterday and am still waiting for the payout that according to the Payments section of my app won't be sent to my bank until tomorrow. So I have called twice today and was told that in order to receive my payouts faster that I have to change from daily payouts to weekly or bi-weekly payouts and then request and early withdrawal after every sale. This is crap, of course. I have the email they sent telling me that my card was verified and that I would now receive all my payouts within 30 minutes. But the guys I talked to don't seem to care about what the email said or that the 1st 2 came within the 30 minutes and my payout schedule was set to daily and that I didn't request an early withdrawal. How do we make it so we get the immediate payout they promised on June 20, 2022? Does anybody know? I mean I already had my payouts going to my checking account that I opened specifically for my eBay funds that I wait up to a week to get. What was the point of me giving them my debit card also for immediate payouts if the payouts are not immediate and I'm still waiting a week to get paid? But if I go in and remove my debit card as my preferred payout method then they will hold my payout for 48hrs while they make the change. I mean, what the heck are they doing?

The new give us your debit card, get your payout in 30 minutes is bogus?

All the feature does os allow you to have your money pit on a debit card that isn't necessarily linked to your bank account. Just change to monthly payments and once your funds have processed, which happens on the 2nd business day after an item sales at 12am, then you can instant cashout to that debit card for 1.5%.

I say do it as monthly because otherwise you may run into an issue with your money finishing being processed on a Tuesday and then it will be sent normally and will take another 2 business days to deposit into your account. Dont rely on anything ebay tells you ever. They make up **bleep** as they go and will hold your money for a week or more at a time without telling you why even if you have no negative feedback and have never had any issues. Customer service is absolute garbage and is only there to answer the phone and jerk off while they recite bull**bleep** generic lines. The whole company is a **bleep** joke but unfortunately they have the power to do what they want because they are the biggest and most visited selling site and they know they can get away with it

If you want to use the immediate payment option, you have to be on weekly or longer payouts and request payment when you want.

It doesn't replace your payout option, just gives you the option to use it when you need the money faster.

Have a great day.

You know, that very well may be. The catch was that there is an extra fee of 1.5% which I am fine with.  I think I must have missed your point in responding?

That is not at all the way they portrayed it in the email and ebay message that I received. They both plainly say, "Once your debit card is confirmed, ALL scheduled payouts usually arrive within 30 minutes after they're sent, with a fee for each payout'. And that's exactly what did happen with the 1st 2 sales I had after my card was verified. My settings were on daily, not weekly, biweekly, or monthly-and I did not have to request any early withdrawal. It just happened like they said it would in their email. Now, all of a sudden it is different, without any kind of notice of change or otherwise. I don't get why people can't seem to grasp that information as I'm presenting it? It is a simple and simple can be.

I was set up for "daily payouts" which allowed me to get a payout in my bank about 4 days after selling an item.  eBay held the money in "processing" and then sent to my bank.

On Wednesday decided to add a debit card to allow for new "express payments" for a fee of 1.5% and maybe get the money a day or two sooner.

I was NOT aware that there would be an automatic 48+ hour hold just for adding a payment method.  This caused eBay to freeze all my payments!  I called Friday and the agent let me know that since I added debit card while daily payouts had been selected then I would have to delete the debit card I added and start all over once I change the payouts to "weekly or longer".  I did this yesterday which added an additional 48+ hour hold. So my payouts are still frozen.  I called again today and an agent let me know that everything looked OK and she will call me TUESDAY evening to check on my status.

Not sure what will happen but hoping there will be no more 48 hour holds because I depend on this money and can't even get one dollar right now.  All I did was add a debit card from the same bank I've used on eBay for 16 years.

Anyway....once this is set up here is what will happen.  If you are set up correctly for weekly payouts then you will be sent a payout every Tuesday.  If you need the money sooner you can request a payout at ANY time but only after the funds are finished "processing".  Your payout choice will be the regular way at no cost which will probably take a couple days(depending on your bank) or the option for 1.5% fee with new express payouts.

Paypal used to have this same feature and it was originally 25 cents but then went to a percentage.  The difference was you could get the cash within minutes of the buyers payment.

I will update my post if I receive a payout next week sometime.  Perhaps eBay could update part of the signup process for "express payments" (adding debit card) to include automatically removing the daily payout option and changing it to weekly+

If you are on "daily payments" and don't change it yourself it seems like your payments will be frozen like mine.

My debit card was accepted by eBay this morning(Sunday) and I was given new option to receive immediate "express payout" of any amount from my "available funds" for 1.5% charge or request "regular" payout with no charge that will take the regular amount of time.  I chose the "express payout" and within a minute the amount of money I selected went from eBay into my bank account that my debit card is linked to.

If I do nothing and leave the money in eBay then every Tuesday the money will be paid out and I'll probably receive it by Friday.

Going forward I will probably request payouts(at no charge) on multiple days during the week and use the "express payments" only for emergencies.

I think that you can't have Payouts to 'Daily' to access the Debit-for-a-fee service. Are yours set for 'Daily'?

ETA: And I welcome a correction. I have my settings for 'Daily', but I'm not going to use the new quicker payout.

you are correct.  With "Daily"  you will not be requesting "on demand" payouts.

It's a darn shame, to be sure. And you're right, they should say beforehand that you have to change to weekly or biweekly and also will have to request it each and every time.

I am just waiting until I don't have anything else coming in so I can change back to daily payouts without the 48hr hold effecting my money. At least I think it's my money. Anymore I can't really be sure. Lol! I got my payouts faster when it wasn't 'immediate', as my bank doesn't hold anything. If eBay sends it on a Monday, early enough, I get it that evening. If they send it late day then I get it overnight sometime. Much less hassle than this supposed 'within 30 minutes' they promise. And you know what...I still have the notification to sign up with my Debit and get immediate payouts. It's like false advertising.

I hope they get you straitened out soon.

You have to set your schedules payments to either a week, bi weekly, or every month. That's the only way to be eligible for instant payout. Otherwise it will send it every day and you will have to wait another day for 2 to get your money. The email was correct

Well, I did not even know about how you said you can use a card that isn't connected to your banking account. That certainly was not part of any of the memo's I got. It does make sense though because I know a bunch of folks were SPOONED because they didn't want ebay playing around  in their bank accounts. I had just opened a new separate account for my ebay ins and outs. I took my debit off of this scam because I quickly realized that it isn't paid in as little as 30mins like they say. It is more of a paid in as little as 30mins after they take 2 days to process, make it available, and then release it. So that's the same as me making a sale and them processing and having it available for a day and then to my account. There is absolutely zero difference in the amount of time from sale to bank whether I were to use it or just go normal. Does that make sense? It did inside my head. Lol! But yeah, I totally agree with everything you said. EVERYthing, and came out the other side of this knowing about that card not linked to a bank deal. So I learned something and you taught me something today. Thanks Dude or Gal! That makes this a good day.

I had a similar issue, recently.  What I can say is that ebay is probably making changes to how this works and the information isn't getting to sellers. I've called them as well and they are of no help. My initial instant payout experience:

-I could receive immediate payouts even on payments that were still processing. I only used it a couple of times because I didn't want to pay the 1.5% fee.

Then, I removed that debit card for an issue. Once I added it back, I was given a verification email. I submitted a document to verify the account. That was 7 days ago, still no ability to receive instant payouts. Calling ebay has not solved the issue. They also told me I need to change my payouts to monthly, which is bogus.

What I would say to anyone asking about the option / process of instant payouts is don't plan on it working smoothly, at least not initially. If you can, avoid it and the 1.5% fee and just go the old fashion way of "daily" payouts.
