THERE IS NO WAY TO OPT OUT OF EBAY MANAGED PAYMENTS?????

If that is true, I will never sell another thing on eBay. What a bunch of crap. I’ve been on eBay since it started and bought and sold all kinds of things. I hope this isn’t true. If it is, it’s yet another company that got too greedy!!!

Most marketplace facilitators like eBay now have their own in-house payment system.  The move to Managed Payments is actually a throwback of sorts to the days when PayPal was an eBay company.

If you don’t use eBay’s payment system, there’s no way for your buyers’ payments to reach you.

What sort of issues are you having with Managed Payments?  Does your bank of choice not work with the system?

Fyi, Ebay 'started' in 1995, not 2000.

Is it managed payments or payment holds that bother you?

Do you sell on another ID? You have no current or completed listings and your last feedbacks you received as a seller were over a year ago.

As such, you're considered to be a new seller and there are going to be hold on your money until you've sold, shipped and delivered enough items to show ebay that you're honorable.

Since you haven't sold anything in over a year, (and most likely longer since you are just now finding out about managed payments), I doubt eBay will be too upset if you don't sell here ever again.

Too greedy you say?

Your eBay fee  in 2012 was 10% and 2.9% PayPal. 12.99% plus .30 total.

Today, 13 years later  your fees for most categories  are 13.25% plus .30.

Where is the greed? Greed is raising fees every year, not every decade.

Managed payments have been around for a while.  I sell on four sites and all have their own payment systems.

Really thought out, intelligent reply, thank you so much!!! Because member since 2000, that’s the only possible time I started on eBay right? Everyone’s user name used to be their email too.

Thank you all the more reason to not list with eBay again. Yes I don’t sell very often on eBay but when I do, they are big ticket items. The last truck I sold was a little over 20K. Now everything you sell on eBay gets turned into the IRS, which is also stupid. Before everyone goes crazy about taxes. Yes of course you need to pay your taxes but just because you sell something doesn’t mean you owe taxes on it. Especially with vehicles, that’s why things are the way they are when you buy/sell a vehicle. You pay taxes when you license the vehicle. Most the time when selling vehicles you lose money due to depreciation. Now I have to show what I paid & crap to show I didn’t profit 20K. Which obviously I paid something for it but eBay sends you a statement like whatever you sold was your profit. This is a waste of time, you guys think it’s great here? Have fun with it, it used to be a lot better. Too bad eBay had to get too greedy & wreck a good thing

You obviously have never paid taxes on your side hustle, which has always been required,no matter how large or how small. There is a column for deductions on every tax filing, and thats what smart, honest, sellers have always used to their benefit. And Ebay had nothing to do with tax filing requirements, you can blame the Federal government for that. They finally caught on to all the tax cheaters out there with online sales.

P.S. And Ebay being 'greedy' has nothing to do with it, you are misinformed.

Payments for vehicle sales aren’t done through eBay, so they don’t report that info to anyone. eBay doesn’t even know if the sale went through.
