Anyone else having their Seller money being held for no reason? Since Ebay does not pay interest on money being with held for payment, I do believe this is grounds for a lawsuit.

...my dearest friend, a couple dollars can only buy 1/3 of a gallon gasoline in California at ARCO or COSTCO, not SHELLS, not MOBIL, and definitely not CHEVRON...

I honestly do not think feedback has anything to do with it. I sell consistently on eBay but may only get three to five feedbacks a month. It is the number of sales that eBay would treat you like a new seller.

You and many others on here are missing the point. The point is ebay is aware they have a problem with their system and have not fixed it. Other sellers have had this exact issue that in some cases have taken months to resolve. Meanwhile their money is being held illegally by Ebay. The lack of critical thinking skills in some of these responses is astounding.

No that is not the reason. I've been through that already.

The point is my money can be used for other purposes, gaining interest was just an example. Like investing in other assests...but I cannot use that money because Ebay is holding it illegally.

No but it might cause positive change in how Ebay conducts their business practices... like holding money for no reason, or "sending the issue to a team to fix eventually" lol.

There is a reason and there is no problem. Ebay holds your money in the event you run for the hills. If a buyer needs to return something you have to keep the money available to do that. You are a new seller so once you prove yourself Ebay will stop holding the funds. Give it a little time and sell at least 25 things.

arizonablues2,
Get the yellow pages out and look up a attorney that practices in class actions suits. Contact them and schedule a consultation. Most attorneys will give you a free half hour consultation.
If you have a case they will tell you if not they will tell you. Remember nothing ventured nothing gained.

Ebay prefers that any refunds come out of your pocket, not theirs. The thirty day MBG here, and six months at PP or cc.

Thank you, counselor. I'm sure you straightened everybody out here. Please provide a link to the law that's being broken.

The reason eBay holds funds for sellers are the following:
1. If a buyer wants to do a return the seller has the money to pay the buyer back. Sellers that haven’t sold things in a while or all of a sudden increasing their sales are a red flag. Unfortunately, many dormant accounts have been hacked and used by scamming sellers to get around limits for new sellers. Also, with all of the organized theft going on and a lot of the stolen goods ending up being fenced here on eBay. eBay has gotten a lot heat from retailers like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Walmart and etc. for organized shop lifters selling goods on eBay. You can google numerous people getting arrested recently for selling stolen or counterfeit goods on eBay recently. This is why eBay has been asking for Id’s, bank statements, receipts for the goods being sold, holding funds, and etc. Many sellers of new items especially electronics who have not been able to prove with receipts where they got their merchandise have been banned permanently. eBay is trying to prove to others that they are serious about fixing the problem.
This happening not just on eBay but all of the other online market places. The retailers and manufacturers are behind all this. If eBay and the market places don’t fix it and make it harder thieves and counterfeiters to sell their goods congress will do it for. I can guarantee eBay does not want new regulations.

And show this link to the lawyer you choose for that class action lawsuit:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816 as it will have a huge bearing on their decision to take the case.

Same thing going on here, I am not a new seller, am 100% positive and have had my managed payments connected since 12/2020 and have been getting paid daily then suddenly my funds are on hold because I need to update my bank details, tried and it errored out saying it couldn't connect so to enter routing# manually I did, then contacted CS, he had me delete all bank accounts and re-enter, said he would call me back today at 8 am, its well after 9 am with no call. To top it off I had a final value fee credit coming from a cancelled "accidental purchase" from a buyer and they hit my bank account (same one they claim needs updated/verified again) with a debit instead of a credit.
