Seller will not reimburse for sending the package to the right person

I ordered a hook rug kit. The seller sent me a wrought iron candleholder. She apologized and asked would I sent the package to the right person. I agreed to send it and she would reimburse me.  She wanted proof of the receipt. I tried to send it to her but was unable. She only refunded me the cost of the kit.  She owes me 57.10 for sending it to the other buyer.  I explained the problem to an ebay representative and she was no help. She opened up a case to have me send it back to the seller. I can't because she asked me to send it to the buyer, which I did.  I don't know what else to do.

This becomes between you and the seller. Because you 'purchased' a label and shipped the item out, this is all being done 'outside' of the website (ebay). There are proper ways of handling, but shipping for a seller is not one of them.

If I'm understanding correctly, you ordered something from the seller but she mixed up the labels and sent the wrong items to the wrong buyers.

And your good deed of forwarding the package to the correct person isn't being reimbursed? Pfft. No good deed goes unpunished.

Unfortunately, you can't force her to uphold her promise, but you can leave appropriate feedback. I'd probably say something to the effect of, "Instead of what I purchased, seller shipped wrong item to me. I shipped to correct buyer and she promised to reimburse my $58 shipping cost renegged on assurance."

Wait for other opinions/suggestions before posting feedback.

@tibo_9719 This makes me sad to read. Your generosity has been taken advantage of and that's a shame. Nobody can make this seller do the right thing. It's over unless she has a conscious.

You should have returned the wrong item back to the seller completely on her dime and let her send you the correct item or refund it (which she did refund the kit), and let her work her own problems out with the other buyer. She clearly didn't trust you the way you trusted her, or she would have sent you the money to cover shipping to the other person beforehand.

Hopefully karma will come visit this seller and they will learn a lesson.

Did you try emailing her and asking her to refund the shipping.  Do you have the receipt? Do you have the tracking # showing that it was delivered.  If you don't have the receipt, do you recall the box dimensions, weight and the zipcode?     Email her one more time and ask her to please refund the money or you are going to ask Ebay to "step in" and read the emails between the two of you where she asked you to forward the box and she would reimburse you.  Obviously, ebay has no power to force her to refund.  One problem that I do see is how he/she can refund you . You need to send him/her your paypal email address but the system is going to block you.  You can try sending them your phone # so that the paypal address can be exchanged.

In the end, no refund, time to post a negative.   "They sent me wrong item. Then they did not pay me the $ I paid to reship item to the correct person.  AVOID this lying seller."  Do NOT threaten to post a negative in any email or ebay will remove it.

I agree kitschy*loot.  I should have returned it back to her. I figure the holidays were coming and this person might have wanted the item before Christmas.  Hopefully she will get what's coming to her.

@tibo_9719

You didn't state whether you even got the rug kit you purchased from the seller. If you didn't get the correct item, open a claim for "not as described." DO NOT OPEN item not received!

In the section where you can describe the issue, you can explain what happened. Hopefully, the seller will just issue a refund for your purchase and possibly reimburse your shipping costs too.

As long as you have a eBay Transaction together you are allowed to exchange all contact information for 15 days thru eBay Messages.

Seller will not reimburse for sending the package to the right person

I received my latch rug kit 1228/22 from the other buyer.  Ebay gave me a refund for the kit but not the shipping cost. Ebay sent me a note to return the kit to the seller for a refund. I tried to explain to the rep that I sent the package to the buyer per the seller's request.  The seller said send her a picture of the receipt. I tried to but ebay won't allow it. I asked her to send me another email address so I can send her the proof  of receipt. She said get ebay to help show you how to send a picture.  I contacted ebay and the rep was not very helpful. Her solution was to open up a claim for a refund.  I try to reply but I just keep getting sent to the refund step procedure.  I took the package to the post office because I was mailing another package as well. I should have sent it back to her, but she asked me to go and send it to the buyer and she would reimburse me.  I got a 9.99 refund but it cost me $ 57.10 to ship the package to California.  The seller can refund me the difference between my cost for the rug kit and shipping costs minus what it cost me to ship the wrong package to the right person. It's not the cost, it's the principal. I am not going to starve if she doesn't pay me. I just want her to do the right thing.

She can only refund you through eBay if it's in the system, she'll have to send money to your Paypal which has an email address or you can send a letter with a copy of the receipt asking her to send a postal money order.
