Has anybody else come across a problem -scam
where a buyer knows the ps5 is out for delivery then calls their credit card company and puts in a claim that he didn't recognize the sale eBay then sides with the buyer and takes money out of my account even when there's proof it was delivered so buyer keeps game gets money back then quits ebay

This isn't really a ps5 specific scam. Fraudulent chargebacks are relatively common depending on the item-category (tech being notoriously high-fraud in general).

This is common on valuable items. By all means, I strongly suggest you get in contact with the shipping carrier to intercept the package and re-route to you. There is cost associated with this, but will certainly be a lot less than what you stand to loose once the PS5 is delivered.
Also, please put buyer in your BBL, buyer blocked list ASAP.

The shipping carrier is not going to intercept a package in time if it's already out for delivery like in the situation described in the initial post. In a situation like this, legal action (file a police report, etc.) would have to be taken.

1. The Payment Dispute page asks for the tracking number again.
2. The tracking number you provide shows Delivered.
3. You win. And eBay covers any loss.
Unauthorized Transaction on
- PayPal requires Proof of Shipment or Proof of Delivery,
- eBay requires Proof of Delivery.

This is unfortunately a very successful new scam. I have had 2 in the last month. The most recent one messaged me and said he made a mistake and did not recognize the transaction and filed a claim. He said he would contact his bank and let them know. I believed him and did not intercept the delivery. He got the item. When the claim came thru I responded with proof that he received the item and his emails saying that the claim was a mistake. I just got notification today that his money was refunded! What a scam!!!! He gets the item and the money no matter what proof the seller has that it is a scam. Something needs to be done. This could get crazy real fast.

Does your Payment Dispute page @carne.kay for "The buyer does not recognize the transaction"
look like this where eBay says "Tracking information was submitted" for Proof of Delivery
-- but still charged you a "payment dispute fee of $20"
-- and slammed "The payment dispute was found in the buyer's favor" against you?
Or was it another type of dispute -- a "claim" as you say?

So why does keep siding with thief’s when they know what’s going on I contacted the post office they told me I didn’t insure the package which I did so I contacted postal inspector after 3 weeks and at first he told nothing he could do after it was delivered and the carrier did not get a signature luckily he went to the house and saw the game and got it back because they didn’t pay for it . It came back used and missing box instructions and stand and the case was dented, so I asked if was covered under seller protection for being damaged on return. they said I still needed a signature oh well just glad this postal inspector went above and beyond to make sure I wasn’t totally ripped off this time

Yes I was charged 20 fee for them ripping me off claim was sent to his credit card company which upheld the claim so ebay gave them back their money but ebay kept the selling fee so they got paid plus the extra 20 btw I had a Xbox up for sale at the same time and they tried to do it again this is what I noticed they had fake names which ebay didn’t even have on file they feed back showed 2 good sales but when I checked their feedback it showed 2-2-2 across the board even though it showed they just signed up ,so how do get all this feedback in 12 months when you just joined a few days ago BUSTED

common scam:
report it to local law enforcement: also the law enforcement were the item was shipped to should receive a report from you on theft;
If it was a phone you could report it to the company to kill it. Not sure thee company that sells these games can or can not do such.

Hello,
I'm not sure if you ever were able to resolve your issue with eBay regarding this, but I had the exact same issue as you had with two of my sales. I reached out to eBay within the 30 day appeal timeframe, and they actually ruled in my favor. They advised the they ruled in my favor because the shipments delivered and required signature upon delivery. Hopefully our experiences are helpful to other sellers in the same predicament.
