Refund issues

Bought item from Seller

seller messages me and states 'item is out of stock' and offers refund

seller been trying all day to refund me and he is having issues keeps getting following error

Your refund did not go through. Please add a payment option to refund the buyer.

From searching here I understand this is a MP issue. The guy has sent me screen grabs of paypal balance and linked bank balance all has enought balannce to cover the refund but still recieves the error.

It's stressing him out and me out

Since I paid with PP via Ebay. Would he be able to issue the refund through PP dashboard as appose to Ebay given that trying to do the latter has been absolutely fruitless and utterly frustrating

any caveats for me the buyer or him the seller doing this?

@exuberance25

The seller needs to link their checking account or add a credit card to process the refund.

Ebay needs a way to pull the funds for the refund.

That's for them to be paid.

They need to select their checking account to pay their fee's.

It's two different things.

The seller still needs to set this up. You will get a full refund BUT the seller pays a small fee that will come from this method as all of your money will be refunded.

@exuberance25  Maybe send the seller a link to this thread and they can come here and get the advice on how best to organise this, just a thought.............

He is doing his own research and trying to call ebay for the passed two days so I am just trying to be proactive and get two balls rolling. Both unfruitful. Very frustrating, but if you have any suggestions i'll happily pass on?

File for an item not received refund. That'll kick up some action.

Okay, he linked a checking account. What if his checking account is ever deficient? Then where does eBay go? The seller needs to add another on-file method such as a credit card in case his bank funds are insufficient, and then retry the refund.
