Recieved random deposit from eBay

Anonymous

I have not sold an item yet and 150$ was added to my bank for "ACH EOD Bank Processing". Should I expect this deposit to be removed or keep it I'm not sure what to do.

Re: Recieved random deposit from eBay

If you were not expecting to be paid yet then a mistake has been made and you should not spend the money. It isn't your money, just someone else's money mistakenly put in your account. When it's discovered they'll  remove the money, or if it's not there they'll debit your account and you'll have a -$150 bank balance and possibly an overdraft fee.

Oh, my! I knew eBay used micro deposits while setting up MP... but, hey... 🤣

Out of curiosity, are you in the process of enrolling in Managed Payments?

@Anonymous

Actually, yes, you have sold something. You should check whether this has something to do with your (very) recent sale:

I, too was kind of thinking it was a .15 micro deposit gone wrong.😁 When eBay screws up they do it big, ha.

Re: Recieved random deposit from eBay

I'm with you. At face value (and after reading the post), I didn't think to check the OP's 'Solds', like @lacemaker3.

@Anonymous

'Processing' is a large word on eBay. Tick on this link and read through it, just in case. > Payments on hold | eBay

Congrats and good luck!

Re: Recieved random deposit from eBay

@mtgraves7984  & @lacemaker3 when the OP made the post it hadn't  sold yet. I did check his items before posting and it was showing for sale 5 minutes before submitting this reply. Nothing in the sold list at 01:10 eBay time.   Hadn't sold when OP posted.

Note the listing ended 5:31 pm.  If that was the seller's time zone then it was 2:31 pm  eBay time. It appears to have sold a couple of hours after he (we) posted.

That is really weird but time stamps are what they are.

Re: Recieved random deposit from eBay

I thought it was really strange, and didn't see how a payment could possibly have been received in the OP's bank for a purchase that was so recent (same day?).

Just figured I would point out that it had occurred, because it seemed like such an odd coincidence.

Re: Recieved random deposit from eBay

I'm thinking selling and getting $ deposited immediately didn't  happen. If sales tax was 9.5% (I figured high) their payout would be 159.38 if the label was from their eBay funds. Maybe as it plays out the OP will let us know what in da heck was happening!

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."

Cue the weird music, Rod. . ..

OMGosh I'm in the city and it's in the country or I would post my twilight zone key chain that plays the theme song. It's wild.

Re: Recieved random deposit from eBay

Ah -- but WHICH season's theme music?!?

I seem to recall that there were at least two (and possibly three) different theme songs used for "Twilight Zone," depending upon the season.

The first season used a very weird string version, that rose and fell in a macabre fashion, like musical breathing.

Season two introduced the guitar-plucking introduction.

And I'm almost positive that there was a third version -- I'll have to go back and watch episodes from seasons three through six.

And let's not forget the theme music from "One Step Beyond" -- now THAT was spooky!

Blast from the past ...

... Rod used to be an (uncommon) visitor on the eBay boards ... I don't think he has been here since sometime long before the Lithium version, but maybe now he has found his way here again.
