Re double tax charges when selling from the UK to Europe

I have raised this issue in the past but it seems E bay are unable to address the issue. We are a UK seller and before managed payments came in we sold over seas. Now in the UK, E bay require Tax ie VAT to be included in the  listing price but when selling into Europe buyers importing are required to also pay VAT on import. Therefore buyers are paying VAT twice, it seems to me that the answer to this is for E bay to make another listing option for sellers exporting and allowing prices to exclude VAT. At the moment buyers in Ireland are having to pay UK VAT at 20% and VAT in Ireland at 21% also . Some other countries in Europe charge different rates. This is pushing the selling to a unsustainable level and as a result we are not getting these sales. It cant be that difficult for a company as large as E bay to sort out, but it seems they are not interested.

Thank you for your reply, as far asI can see there is no such site in the UK.  E bay do not seem to provide this kind of forum in the UK.  Another issue in the UK is that E bay have removed the contact phone numbers and there does not seem to be any means of direct contact. The present tax issue is costing us sales as is the new managed-payment system due to us not being allowed to advertise on the .com site unless we hold a bank account in that region or country. Comments are welcome

To sell on the eBay US site using Managed Payments you do need to have a US bank account.

Ask about this and the VATs on the eBay UK Community Boards. They should have more information there. for you.

Be sure to log off the eBay US site before going to the eBay UK site.
