Problem with buyer's payment

I sold an item and tracking shows it was received.  The buyer has now opened a request saying it wasn't received.  I entered the tracking number showing delivery.  In the comments section, the buyer wrote that he was charged twice for this item, once through PayPal and once through his bank.  Is this even possible?  There is only one way to pay when you check-out and you can't choose 2 options.

Nothing has happened in the case so far even though it was an INR case and I entered the tracking number showing delivered.  Is there a way for me to help him if he was charged twice?  I don't want any surprises down the road.

Re: Problem with buyer's payment

You can tell if it is a chargeback because it is not opened in Ebay.  They go directly to their Credit Card company to open a chargeback.  It does not appear in your resolution center in Ebay because it isn't opened in Ebay.

@downunder-61  I don't think it is a credit card charge back.  The wording is weird and if I only get one shot, I probably blew it.  It is a ridiculous thing to say that I, as a seller, charged the buyer twice.  I think mam is right and IF there is a double debit, it is from the bank.  I think he just doesn't know what he is looking at.  I reported him AGAIN, because now he is saying he ordered 2.  I had 2, but one sold in June 2021 and then this buyer purchased one in December  2021.  There is no way he ordered 2.

I am thrilled he gave me a +FB--one less thing to worry about, but I'm more worried about losing money.

I was going by this that you posted in one of your replies:

xxx has filed a payment dispute outside of eBay about an order that was placed on Dec 30, 2021. This means the buyer has disputed a charge directly with their payment provider. They are requesting $29.97 back and the reason for this dispute is that the buyer was charged twice

This is eBay advising you of a CCCB - usually

As I said I think it is going to be fine, as the duplicate charge will NOT appear on the buyers CC record- hence - no dispute for the CCC to open.

@evry1nositswindy   Just out of interest, was this an offer you accepted or a straight BIN sale ?

Ignore this, just looked.

Re: Problem with buyer's payment

I would like to thank all who helped me.  I just got notification today 2/2/2022 that a decision was made in this dispute.  The dispute was found in my favor!

My question has to be, why is this an option in the resolution center?  If this is a payment dispute...go to where your payment came from!

I'm so happy to hear this worked out and you won this claim as you should have A MONTH AGO.  Very glad you got your money back.

The resolution center is for requests for returns and INR's open in Ebay.  Chargebacks are not represented there.
