How do they intend to take the store subscription from MP funds? By it's very nature it's a once a month fee.

they take it from your MP funds, if no funds, they charge your backup payment method... I asked EB MP the same thing, that is what they told me will likely happen (course they don't know fully yet, or do and won't say, but that's the answer I got). As for the fees on promoted listings that have been charged separately from MP - I'm happy to hear they are finally changing this and going to take the promoted listing fee direct from the sale fees - should have been doing that the whole time.

But what happens if you have a quarterly promotional listing credit?

That's usually reflected on the following month's invoice isn't it? But it sounds like there won't BE an invoice.

And just out of curiosity, where and when was this change announced?

@nuclearomen  @ronsam-197  well I guess you really do learn something new every day.

I figured it was in the cards eventually, but wasn't aware it was already in play for some sellers.

So it looks like that is saying if you're in MP and THEN subscribe to a store you won't be getting an invoice, but those who already had stores prior to that will get invoices?

@ronsam-197  I wouldn't say it was "announced" but I stumbled on this change to the quarterly credit back in December.  https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/TRS-Promoted-Listings-Credit-Going-Away-Weekly-Chat-Follow-Up/...

Gotta love eBay...did you notice the last sentence "...financing statement on Seller Hub"?  All I could think was OMG fees are going to be so high we will have to finance them 🤣  I am sure eBay is referring to this

I don't think it was "announced" at all. The rationale is most likely what every change has been for the last few years. Low impact (according to ebay) changes are no longer announced.

@ronsam-197  sorry, forgot to turn on my sarcasm font. 🤣 "I wouldn't say it was announced" was in fact meant to say it was absolutely not announced at all. 😉

We have finally at least been able to get confirmation that the Promoted Listings fees and quarterly credits being applied to Managed Payments is in effect for new "enrollees" and will be phased in for existing managed payments sellers.

We've been told we will receive advanced notice before our accounts are switched over to the "new experience" but we shall see.

@mcdougle4248  too funny! Or at least I hope we can assume it is just a joke and laugh at it and we won't really be needing that financing.  I know I keep seeing ads for those eBay/LendingPoint loans. 😬

Right now, I feel like I've had quite enough ebay "experiences".

Heck, I can't even find where I can see if, where and when I've been charged for a return label anymore.

...well credits are issued at time of invoice, so that would be applied as usual to what you would owe.

MP told me, again, starting next quarter there is no more invoice to pay, it will be charged/collected through MP - there will still be a monthly invoice, but from what they told me anything owed will be taken from your MP funds.

It wasn't announced, i said EP MP told me, meaning I was on the phone with them last week about not being able to make an over payment to my account. They told me the reason why is because of fraud - apparently people make over payments and then dispute charges with ebay - so they ended the ability to make overpayments and will, starting next quarter, take promotional listing fees direct from MP sale fees (so FVF, $0.30 trans fee, additional international trans fee if applicable, + any elected promoted listing fee on said item sold on the PL). I'm fine with that personally. As for store fee, it will be once a month as usual just taken from any funds you have at the time in MP or taken from backup payment method or bank account on file. I suspect the ability to "make a one time payment" option will remain but they didn't go into great detail explaining the changes that are on the way...guess we'll find out then.

The "previous" TOS seems to be a draft of the current one. The changes are mostly formal and structural with an eye to softening the original - save this.

Time will tell. Makes perfect sense. What's left isn't going anywhere; nay, it would seem anything eBay does to cull the herd is a welcome gift to those who fancy this marketplace as their inheritance.

We'll know soon enough.
