I see that others have had payments go to payment options other than ebay resulting in overdraft charges. I recently had this problem, resulting in a 19.99 item actually costing me $60.00.
I'm curious how many others have had this problem. I see some users have stated that they are going to another service. Of course there is no way to determine how many people have done this and left ebay and gone to another service.
Has anyone had this problem and had it resolved in a satisfactory way?

I just recently went through the buying process too quickly and payment went through bank instead of PP credit. I requested cancel immediately (bank account low at mid to end of month!). Then repurchased right away. Not sure what your circumstances were on that transaction but sorry that happened to you. You might try getting your bank to reverse any fees.

Sounds like that would be an issue with your Paypal settings.

It is doubtful this is an Ebay problem. They can't change your method of payment once you chose one. That is something the absolutely can not do. Either you made an honest mistake and/or you need to check your setting in your PP account.
I hope you get your issue resolved.
FYI, if this is the first time you have had an overdraft fee with your bank, chances are HIGH that if you call them they will forgive it.

I have recently made 3 purchases separately though the eBay app on my phone. I ALWAYS double check my payment preferences in checkout as I keep money for spending online in there. I can safely say that after the first two went to my bank cad instead, I looked into my PayPal to make sure I had my balance as the preferred method and that there was plenty in there to cover what should have been charged to my PayPal balance. BOTH of those conditions where met. On the third purchase I verified my PayPal settings AGAIN. Paid extremely close attention at the checkout on the Bay app. PayPal was chosen. (I even tapped on it to make sure.) Guess what......it still charged my bank card! This is extremely frustrating and I am glad I caught this before making a large purchase that the bank account the card is tied to went into negatives. I must know spend my time and energy trying to get someone from eBay to fix this.
