PayPal log in

Why do I have to log into PayPal every time I buy something on eBay? I never needed to before, just click buy and then pay and that was pretty much it, not click buy then it asks me to sign into my PayPal account, it’s like it’s forgot I have PayPal.

Next time you pay for something look for the checkbox to link your PayPal account. Maybe it was reset or maybe you made some sort of change that caused the linkage to be turned off.

The checkout process has changed a bit now that many sellers are using Managed Payments and PayPal is no longer the only option for processing payments.

There may be a setting at eBay checkout to remember your payment details for future transactions.

If not, there is a setting in your PayPal account that allows you to set up One Touch auto-login in your browser. Go to your PayPal account and click on the gear icon and choose the Security tab to see some options. If you continue to use that particular browser, you should be able select PayPal without needing to sign in. Only use that if you have exclusive access to your device, obviously.

It is possible that if you clear your browser cookies or make certain changes (or if your browser is updated) that may affect how this auto-login works, and it may have to be enabled again.

I have the opposite problem.

When I make a purchase someplace, (home improvement store, auto parts, where ever)PP continually persists in linking my account so that I do not have to log in.

I have to continually go to PP to stop that from happening.

Are you still having this problem and if not how did you resolve. This is happening to me now and PayPal said to wait 48 hours and try again. Seems odd a person can't access their own account.

My preference has always been to log in every time. Otherwise, if someone hacks my eBay account, or if I forget to log off, anyone who can get into my eBay can also pay with my PayPal.
