I have paid for my shipping labels for YEARS through paypal and my amex card. Now when I buy labels, they take the funds out of my bank account. Amex is my PREFERRED way to pay seller costs on eBay, yet they continue to pull from my bank account. When I choose paypal to pay for labels, it comes out of my bank account there too, even though my preferred payment method on PAYPAL is Amex! I spoke to a rep at eBay and he tried to figure it out but couldn't. Please advise me on this if you are able. Thank you!

Sometimes it gets changed.
Next label, before purchasing scroll down to see which payment source is highlighted/selected
switch back if needed.
I always check the label source. (small seller)
I do labels one at a time, no bulk.

I had suggested the same days ago. >> eBay Changed my Payment Method??? - The eBay Community
So this is still happening after the 'scrolling down' with each label? What the heck?

Thank you for your reply. I have done this 2x now, chosen to pay through eBay and through paypal and they BOTH pull from my bank account. Completely stuck, puzzled...

YES!!! It cannot be fixed, eBay rep even voided a label that he told me to purchase and that it would NOT come out of my funds or bank account.

Have you checked your default/preferred payment method in PayPal lately? Is it still Amex?

Yes, it is still Amex in Paypal. Every OTHER purchase I make outside of eBay shipping labels on Paypal goes on Amex. I'm starting to think I'm **bleep** nuts!!!

That made me laugh out loud, for real. I've decided that you're way beyond unlucky... but hadn't gotten to 'nuts' yet. 🤣

You know what we do need? A new poster. I'm gonna Phone-A-Friend. Holla at any others that come to mind... 😉
Would you have any insight on @yellow-snapdragon's issue? It's bigger than Jack and me... again. 🤣

I thought of a few others who might have knowledge of this or experience to share. Fingers crossed...

It appears that @yellow-snapdragon keeps selecting 'PayPal' for the AMEX points. The OP's PayPal 'Preferred' is correct (AMEX), but... the label payments continue to pull from the bank account. Ever heard a remedy for that? 🤔

Sorry but I have no idea. I’ve often heard of that happening because Payal somehow got unchecked on the label page or if the credit card on PP expired but that doesn’t seem to be the

Never seen that happen. I don't have a Paypal account so my payment for labels ether comes out of pending or available funds. When there isn't sufficient funds in managed payments, shipping labels are paid with my debit card on file.

1. eBay has been very actively changing the payment method for shipping labels from PayPal to pending funds when using the app. A big notice pops up that you have to X out of, so you are alerted when they make the change. Happens every week or two to me when I'm comparing rates using the app and it really annoys me.
Additional info - with eBay labels, UPS and FedEx are paid for exclusively through eBay available funds, you cannot use PayPal, so if you purchase a UPS or FedEx label with available funds, you have to manually change back to PayPal each time you buy USPS labels.
So first thing is to make sure PayPal is your choice to pay for shipping labels and the labels in question are USPS.
2. As long as PayPal is selected, it should charge your default payment method on PayPal. If that's not happening, it's a PayPal issue, not an eBay issue.
First thing, make sure the CC is not expired, or not expiring this month. Second thing, make sure card is default payment method through PayPal. Third thing, if 1 and 2 are ruled out, is to remove the card from PayPal and re-add it, making it the default.
If you still have problems after that, and your eBay labels are being charged through PayPal, then you will need to contact PayPal CS to see why they are charging your bank instead of your default CC. @yellow-snapdragon
