Just getting my first bad taste of eBay's new seller payout system. It's a huge step backwards. With PayPal's recent addition of instant transfers, a person could get their payment from the buyer within minutes of the sale taking place. Now, you make your sale. A day and a half later you get an email from eBay telling you it has finally been sent to your financial institution, then get ready to wait another 1-3 days after that. LAME! And like others, I also preferred keeping my eBay sales separate from my regular bank account in the PayPal account. Of course Ebay tries to tout the benefits of what they offer with this sad new system, but the snails pace outweighs the minimal benefits they're claiming. At least for a smaller seller like myself. eBay please get smart and fix this **bleep**.

LOL, enough people won't do it! LIKE ME. A seller who wants to provide exceptional service like I have for the last 20 years. And those who do, do it. Won't be doing it long.

Not all of us, some of us small sellers are doing just fine with Managed Payments.

Same system you are, I just use it a little different.
I don't make my customers wait, I pay for shipping using the pending funds and ship the same or next day.
If you're waiting until the funds are in your checking account, that's your decision to make, but like you say, you'll have some unhappy customers.
I chose weekly payouts and my funds are in my checking account every Wednesday morning.
No, I'm not a big seller, but I've been using the same program for 5 or 6 years and I understand how it works and I make it work for me.

You don't have to front the money or wait for the buyer's payment to reach your bank before shipping. Just set your Shipping form to draw the postage from the buyer's pending funds. You will find the setting for that at the lower left corner of the Shipping form.
The funds themselves are not "pending;" it's the transfer to your bank that's pending. eBay already has the buyer's payment, which is why you can use a portion of it to purchase the shipping on-line.

The cheek, higher fees and they make interest on our funds. Poor show eBay!

You should think twice before doing it.

Hope that teaches you to shop only on eBay!

YES THIS NEW PAYOUT SYSTEM IS WAY TOO SLOW 🐌
Sold an item on July 11. Ebay just transferred the payout to payoneer on July 14 (really? 3 long days???). Not only that, according to payoneer, the transfer to my bank account will take another 2-5 days!!!! whattt is going on here???? how long will it take before i ship the item? because i will not ship the item unless i receive the payout!!! i thought this new system would be more convenient.... yeah convenient to ebay and payoneer!!
On top of that, ebay took 15% (yes not 12+%) of the total proceeds. and payoneer’s transfer fee is way higher than paypal. If i was previously paying 15% fees (10% ebay + 5% paypal) now i’m paying more!!!! but the very slow process of payment is the icing of the cake that makes your blood boil.
Ebay is forcing me and/or others to sell elsewhere.
Now, ebay is only good for buyers. I will use ebay ONLY TO BUY BUT NO “LONGER” TO SELL. You can have your platform to yourself ebay!

that’s not applicable to us (outside US sellers).

just created a Bonanza account. surprisingly a good eBay alternative. **bleep** of ebay’s new payout system? add your listing on other platforms like bonanza, etsy, ebid.... sooner or later they’ll be competitive with eBay especially that now eBay is forcing us to make moves like this ✌🏻 so let’s do this... 🤗

found this while searching for alternative selling platforms:
hope this helps other affected sellers 🤗

I will be doing this as well. My item description will let buyers know that items will ship as soon as funds are in my bank account. This is only fair.

Totally up to you how and other sellers who wait for funds to clear to run your business, just hope you don't come back here later asking where are all the sales ? why have INR's increased ?......
because the reality is no buyer should have to pay for a seller's misunderstanding of managed payments and shipping procedures.

How can trying to drag your buyers into this be a good business move? Imagine if Target, Macys, or some other B&M had a greeter at the door to stop you when you entered to let you know about a problem they are having with a vendor. Do you think that would be good business? Not likely. Your buyer doesn't belong in the middle of this AT ALL.
If you want to change your handling time and ship after the funds are in your bank account, you have every right to do that. You don't however have to put a disclaimer on your listings to explain your handling time. Just change it. If you don't want to change your handling time and only state it in your disclaimer, then you are going to hurt the health of your selling account with the late shipment defects. And eventually have potential sanctions.
Now something to keep in mind. Once a buyer makes a payment they can't change, cancel or otherwise mess with their payment. They have absolutely no ability to do that. They never could do it in Paypal and they can't do it in MP. There is no risk of you not receiving the buyer's payment.

I don't consider it a disclaimer, but as a courtesy to my customers. But you're probably right anyway. It does however suck that sellers have to pony up for shipping until they get their payment. This can be an expensive prospect when shipping heavy items and/or pricey breakable items.
