Just getting my first bad taste of eBay's new seller payout system. It's a huge step backwards. With PayPal's recent addition of instant transfers, a person could get their payment from the buyer within minutes of the sale taking place. Now, you make your sale. A day and a half later you get an email from eBay telling you it has finally been sent to your financial institution, then get ready to wait another 1-3 days after that. LAME! And like others, I also preferred keeping my eBay sales separate from my regular bank account in the PayPal account. Of course Ebay tries to tout the benefits of what they offer with this sad new system, but the snails pace outweighs the minimal benefits they're claiming. At least for a smaller seller like myself. eBay please get smart and fix this **bleep**.

EBay isn’t going to listen to you, or any of us for that matter. They will listen when revenue drops.

Well, I’m calling **bleep** on that. Anytime I use a debit card to purchase something those funds are out of my bank account before I walk out the door.

Bet they are not in the recipients account though, all transfers take time unless they are internal bank to bank.
Paypal fronted the money to the seller before it was even cleared to them, so we all got happy and comfortable with that - now Adyen as a financial banking institution (PP was Not a bank) are bound by banking laws and can not do that, so we wait until funds are in our banks.
Or, as you say, leave eBay

Never once had an issue with PayPal so you are sorely mistaken if you believe what you say. You can’t purchase out of pending funds because you don’t see the funds until they are actually in your bank account.

Every time I get gas or go to the grocery store those funds are out of my bank before I walk out the door or leave the gas station. So, no they aren’t letting to do anything of the such.

For some, EBay will not even release funds to you until at least 1 day after delivery and they pick and choose when they do this. Never had an issue with anything but have only had two instances where money was actually sent to me BEFORE delivery. Your comment holds no water.

That may work if I actually saw pay out of pending funds.

When you are shipping, at the bottom of the weights and measure screen you will see a box you can click, pay out of pending sales. No need to wait to ship, the money comes right out of what the buyer sent you.

Yeah, I’m going through it now. It’s stupid. Ebay is stupid. This process is stupid.

I've been on eBay for 21 years and experienced all the intervening changes. In the beginning we didn't have an electronic payment system, and payments were made by check or money order. You had to wait until the checks and money orders cleared your bank before shipping. Then came Billpay followed shortly thereafter by PayPal. Sellers were kicking and screaming when PayPal was the required payment system because they didn't want to pay the 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fees. As for me I was happy because with the so called cash system you had to keep track of when those checks/money orders cleared with lots of complaints of where is my item. Then PayPal started requiring our SS#. Lots more ranting. People are always up in arms over every change. But hey me included. The one that makes me the maddest is that eBay charges the highest final value fees on books and videos 14.55%. Unfortunately with their new system of charging fees on the total transaction that means you are also paying 14.55% on the shipping portion as well.
Fast forward to now. Yes it takes a couple of days for the money to process, but you can use funds from the pending payout to pay for your shipping labels. So you can still ship the same day if that has been your current handling time. The speed whereby your eBay payouts are processed is due to your financial institution not eBay. I most certainly didn't want eBay having access to my regular checking account for any number of reasons. Especially not wanting to deal with the bookkeeping issues. Therefore, I shopped around and found a free checking account. I didn't even have to make a deposit to open the account. I am very pleased with them as they actually process my payouts within one day and frequently the same day. I use the debit card from that account to pay for my eBay purchases and whatever else. The decision to keep selling is yours.
As a small seller eBay presently has the lowest selling fees, and if you have even a basic store your final value fees are lower. Due to the changes during the past year the number of listings allowed increased substantially, and therefore, we combined our two selling accounts . The primary benefit is lower FV fees, and the free shipping supplies quarterly.

I actually laugh when I read about all these people refuse to ship until they get the money in their bank. It makes people like us who still ship immediately the preferred sellers. Whenever I want to purchase something I look at the estimated delivery time. Those who ship within one day get my money. Although I initially had misgivings I did use pending funds to pay for my shipping labels. What I do like is that all the funds transferred to my bank is free and clear because all the FV and shipping fees have already been paid. No more huge bill to pay at the end of the month. The only thing that I pay monthly is my store subscription.
The recent change they made in the seller's hub shows you the exact percentage of FV fees. So I know that it's the correct amount.

Absolutely could not agree more. They completely bungled this, and I don’t see any benefits whatsoever. I’m looking for another outlet to sell items, this is completely unacceptable.

Yeah, thanks eBay, let's take a system that has worked for decades, that everyone is happy with, so we can add more fees to add to your 2.5 Billion Dollar a year profit margin, yeah, you read that right, 641 Million a quarter profit.... PROFIT!!! and yet I sell an Item for 30.50 with shipping, and I end up getting 19.14 of that, because fees from other items and a relisting fee, I wasn't even supposed to be charged, because I had a bidder run up an auction so high no one else would bid, then after winning, canceled the order.... And why are fees from other items being taken out of the money I got from this item? That's so confusing to try and figure out what I'm paying for and what I'm getting paid on, because the amounts do not match. When I first saw a "pending deposit" for 19.14, I was like, I haven't sold anything for that amount... I had to go in, and decode this idiotic new system, only to find out, yeah, I got paid 30.50, but after taking other auction item fees out, I only get 19.14. Oh, and, I have to wait 6 DAYS!!! to get my money!!! No. I will not do it any longer! I am openly seeking an alternative to this once great selling outlet. Thanks for pissing off ALL your sellers, oh except the big giant ones, little mom and pop shops like mine you're killing! eBay = Walmart when it comes to killing mom and pop shops.
Sincerely,
A very aggravated member!!!
