1. You will receive an eBay message advising you of the deadline to "Register" for Manage Payments.
2. If you register on or before that date your account will go in to the system and be scheduled for a future "Activation" date ... they usually advise you when that will occur. Between Registration and Activation you will continue to enjoy the 150% Streamline PayPal payment processing system you have enjoyed for as long as you have sold
3. Once your account is "Activated" ONLY listings that are Auctions with bids or GTC listings with outstanding Offers will remain in PayPal until they end ... all other listings will be subject to the Managed Payments system.
4. In Managed Payments your money will no longer go to your PayPal account, it will take a circuitous route half way around the world through Adyen, a Dutch firm, that will process the Buyer's money back through eBay who will then release the money to be sent to your Bank account ... that will be a minimum of 2-4 days but some report longer wait times.
5. You will be able to set your account up to accept either Daily or Weekly Payouts.
-Daily Payouts are ONLY Mon - Fri and exclude Weekends and Holidays so that means around 110 days per year where you will NOT get paid.
-Weekly Payouts are made every Tuesday and you can expect that some payments will miss that day and roll over to the following week.
6. eBay has improved their cash flow with Managed Payments by as much as 45 days, they will skim off their FVFs from your sales at the time of purchase. They will no longer have to wait for a 30 day billing cycle to end and then another 15 days to get paid by the Seller.
7. Since money will no longer go to your PayPal account you can set up paying for your shipping labels with "Available" Funds in Managed Payments ... or use PayPal until your money is gone there or you replenish it or designate a funding source like a bank account or credit card.
8. The accounting end is not as good as PayPal either ... their CSV database lacks Buyer's address and other info that was standard with PayPal's system.
... that in a nut shell are the facts involving Managed Payments ... bet you're glad you asked ...
