NEW MAKING AN OFFER

On occasions I "MAKE AN OFFER" if the listing is set up that way.   I noticed lately that it asks for payment info etc and then you NEVER hear anything or get notification if the seller did or did not accept you offer.

I did this, got no notification and basically forgot.  And BOOM I get something   Turns out they is accepted my offer and got paid and shipped.   Ain't so sure this is good thing  Maybe so.   I know I is had offers, I accepted and then the buyer mysteriously disappears, or do not return emails.    Just wondering when this changed       I dont use best offers on things I sell

NEW MAKING AN OFFER

A lot of people did not understand that making that offer was a binding bid and a sale if accepted. Some thought they just would receive a price and could then decide if they wanted to purchase it.  NO that is not how it works.    eBay should/could use stronger wording in place of " make an offer" to convey that to buyers.

eBay now has you set up payment in case it's accepted.  Does save time and get the item to you faster.  Also, the instant payment seems to make sellers more likely to accept your offer.

NEW MAKING AN OFFER

"Make an offer".

If it is accepted by the seller and you forgot to pay eBay will use a credit card on file for the payment and pay the seller.

This began sometime last year.

Seller doesn't need to respond to any emails by a buyer.

Hope it was a good buy.
