We typically get an ebay bucks certificate every few months, as we make many purchases here. I just checked to see how much has accumulated since our last issue in April, and i noticed that next to each purchase that was eligible for ebay bucks, it says $0.00 and none have earned ebay bucks. All were through normal sellers we get items from and all had ebay bucks attached. Why am i suddenly not earning my bucks?

Wow, nevermind. It looks like ebay did away with ebay bucks during this time. That is absolutely insane. Is this true?

Well publicized. Why is it insane?

Yes, eBay Bucks are now available only through special promotions.

Earning eBay Bucks
How do I earn eBay Bucks?
On or before March 31st, 2021 all eBay Bucks members will continue to earn 1% in addition to any Bucks Bonus Promotions that eBay may run on all qualifying purchases. When you receive a bonus offer, just activate the offer and start shopping on eBay and you'll automatically earn eBay Bucks on qualifying purchases. Earn eBay Bucks during a calendar quarter and you will receive an eBay Bucks Certificate for the total amount earned after that quarter ends.
Why is the base earn being retired?
After careful and thorough consideration, we decided to retire the 1% earning as we look to continuously optimize our offerings. The good news is that we will continue to offer limited time eBay Bucks Bonus promotions for earning eBay Bucks. In addition, all Bucks earned on or after April 1st , 2021 through the Bonus offers will now be valid for 12 months.

Because ebay has dug many holes from themselves and continues to do so. There is basically zero incentive to buy here over other sell sites anymore.

Not so "well publicized", as I only noticed it had been ended today.

eBay sent out messages around March 1st entitled "Important update to the Bucks program" that had some details about the changes. There were apparently a couple of different versions of the message received by users.
Here is the one I received then:

I am waiting on the 5% offer. When they see you looking a lot but not buy nothing. They may offer it to you. E bay really is determined to kill sales on their site. But now since they making all do the managed payments. If sales and buys any even if the listings drop 33%. They will make the same $. Because they fee taxes and high priced postal services. And now get the processing fees also. To attract sellers they are going to have to change things. Stop feeing Taxes and high priced postage would be a great start. But they know it will cut into unjust profits the get to much. So the old moto as one seller goes another will come. Is not happening anymore . eBay is like a old beat up horse now. No one wants to sell on a site that is going to fee Taxes and Postage. I still do but make very little on a 21 $ item with lowest postage I call free. Lucky to put $ 10 in my pocket that it take s me forever to get. Stupid managed payment is way to slow to pay. Takes your cash for sales you made to pay postage for others not right. The postage should come from the same sale. But e bay dose not care about nothing but how fat they make their pockets. Stopping eBay bucks was just another way to do that. The thing eBay needs to remember is they are running out of things to keep a profit margin growing. And not driving site below 33% of what it use to be. This place I noticed has lost piles of good sellers last year was their worst. I hope all the best on eBay your gonna need it.
