Managed payments

Why is eBay holding and obviously using my money for over a week. This is wrong and eBay is taking this way to far. I hope eBay loses most of its sellers over this I’m a small reseller and I know they don’t care about little old me but I don’t know why they started this stupid payment setup. I will sell what I have then I’m done. When they get my money when an item sells and then they hold it for 3/4 days then send a payout out and I still don’t get it for  another 3/4 OH AND GUESS WHAT IT ALWAYS HITS A WEEKEND  that’s eBay stealing and we get the shaft. I wish all eBay resellers smarten up

They don't receive the funds when the buyer pays.

The payment has to be processed, which could take a couple days.

Have a great day.

Re: Managed payments

@danielv508

There's nothing we can do about that. The ones that are staying (me included) are making it work. Now that I have a process in place, I actually like it because I now have everything processed under one roof and I don't have to backflip between here and PayPal constantly. Now with that...did I LIKE it at first? Not really...but I probably didn't quite have the hatred for it that most did. I'm ex-military and the one thing I've learned is that if something is working smoothly just wait long enough and someone will change the process to eff it up big time so we needed to make it work (again).

That is what I chose to do. Make it work.

I have since found that even though I don't have control of when my funds get transferred (it's once a week now on Tuesday...once a week is my choice vs daily...) I have found the actual transfer to the bank is about 2 days LESS than what PayPal was. Win for me.

The one thing that irks me with the processes is that I wish there was a way to keep a certain amount back in my account instead of just wiping everything out every Tuesday. I usually left $100 or so in my PP account for incidentals that popped up before my next sales got deposited.

Depending on what you sell, you are going to probably find the grass isn't any greener on the other side of the fence..

Good luck wherever  you go. I wish you well. Less sellers here is more buyers for me.

Re: Managed payments

The new payment system sucks. Period. When I was paid through Paypal my money was there instantly. I had a choice. I could transfer it to my bank account and it would be there the next day for FREE, or I could transfer it INSTANTLY and pay a 1 percent fee for it to be in my bank account the same day. Ebay is taking the fee that was being paid to Paypal. Same fee. They are then holding on to your money and you have no access to it until they pay it out. If your item sells on Thursday it is not paid out until Monday. The earliest you may get it in your account and have access to it is Tuesday. Possibly even Thursday or Friday. They still want you to ship the item to the buyer ASAP! You don't even have the money they paid for shipping yet! Insane. The only one benefitting is EBAY. There is no benefit whatsoever to the seller. All of this and we have no choice whatsoever in how our payments are received even though the buyers can still use Paypal. I hate it and it sucks. All because they wanted that 3 percent that Paypal was making, as if they don't already get enough of a percentage on the sale itself.

Re: Managed payments

3% yeah right they probably making a lot more on the money. Like I said I just had an item paid for on Friday and then again yesterday and I have my payout schedule set to daily what happened there I still haven’t gotten a pay out for the item that sold on Friday. This is ridiculous and they’ll end up losing business over it but that’s OK they’ll just keep raising the fees and no one will notice.

Re: Managed payments

It's very unfair of you to accuse eBay of stealing. How much money did eBay steal from you?

Before managed payments PayPal put the money in your account instantly, even before the payment cleared PayPal's account.

With managed payments ADYEN processes the payment and they do not give it to eBay instantly. When it's fully cleared then eBay gets it, and in turn they give it to you.  PayPal straight to seller is faster than ADYEN to eBay to seller as there's an extra bank account it has to pass through.  And then eBay doesn't process payments on the weekend so that can affect the payout time.

Re: Managed payments

That sounds all well and good, but explain why Etsy also uses ADYEN and transfers my money daily and its in my account daily? If they are using the same processor, there should be no 3-5 day delays! Theres a whole lost of stinking fish in ebays Denmark!!!!!!!

Re: Managed payments

You’re a fool if you don’t believe that they are stealing. There is no reason why it takes me 7 to 9 days to receive money that was electronically transferred into eBay‘s account the second the person paid for the item.
