Managed money and payments

Does anyone else hate the new way ebay is making us get paid? It is so slow it's like going from high speed back to dial up. My item was paid for on 07/07 and i will not get the money till 07/12.  If i am lucky that's 5 days. Paypal pay's the minute the item is paid for so you have there shipping money right then.  They should let us stay with Paypal if we want to but there greed for that 3% is just to much. I have been selling on Ebay since 2003 but now it might be time to look for a better way.

Managed money and payments

It takes some getting used to. I can't say I hate it. I get paid daily. I like that I don't have a monthly invoice. I can't find a better place so I adapt to the change and keep listing and selling.

Well, I can't call it "the new way", as I opted in during August, 2019. It is my experience that my buyer's payment is my bank deposit in 4 business days.

I choose to ship using my bank funds, but you can select to pay from 'Pending' funds at the lower left of labels page.

You are able to pay for shipping out of the pending funds, scroll down & check that box when you are creating a label.

You can also adjust your payouts to daily rather than weekly.. That's weekdays, holidays & weekends excluded.

I wish you better luck with speedy payments.  It may not be eBay's fault but your bank's.  I just started on MP on July 5.  Already had 3 payments go to my bank.  Each time it was only 2 days after the buyers paid.  Sales paid for on the 5th, 6th, 7th & money into my acct. on the 7th, 8th, 9th.   Cheers!

Please, what platforms pay faster than eBay?  Thanks.

No, for a number of reasons I prefer MPs.  Not that you really care, nor do I expect  you to.

@sixtysfordguy

The Managed Payments system is not "new".  It's been in effect for about 2 years already and many, many sellers have been on it for at least a year now.  I've been on Ebay for 23 years and on MP for 1.  I too loved PayPal.  I think most of us did, and we miss the instant funds in the account.  But MP is here to stay and it is the new norm for anyone continuing to sell here.  It definitely takes some getting used to, but I have no complaints.   I read many posts by sellers recently switched into MP and very frequently they seem surprised by how it works or lacking in understanding.  The eBay site is FULL of information about how MP works and that information has been available for a very long time.

My advice to anyone about to switch over to it, is to educate yourself as much as you can beforehand.   It will really help you to transition.  I chose to do weekly payouts because for me that just seems simpler to keep track of.   Every Tuesday without fail since I have been on MP, eBay initiates a payout to my bank for all sales from the previous week, that have completed processing by Monday.     The funds that eBay transfers to me Tuesday morning are there Wednesday in my bank.  (That will vary depending on your bank.)   I have chosen to pay for eBay shipping labels directly from my pending funds here, but you can chose PayPal if you wish (or bank funds).  I have never failed to receive my Payout on the expected day in the expected amount.  I track it carefully, have my own spreadsheet to verify that the numbers match, and I have not been disappointed.  I hope that will be your experience too.    There are other venues to sell on, but eBay reaches a lot of customers that you might otherwise not be able to market to.  The new system works, but be sure to read up on all the facets of it.   Best of luck to you.
