Managed Payments

I am not happy with managed payments.  I'm tired of waiting for my money. I would rather pay PayPal their fee and get my money instantly than pay eBay and have to wait.   In a world where people are getting paid instantly for delivering for Door Dash, instantly for working for one of those places where you take care of a family member and get paid that day, eBay is falling behind and going in the other direction.  You already get listing fees and final valuation fees and now you are getting fees to mismanage our payments. Stop being greedy!!! Pigs get fat and HOGS get slaughtered. I'm about to close my account and sell elsewhere.  EBAY YOU'RE BEING GREEDY AND MISSING THE MARK!!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I noticed that your first item sold on October 1... have you been paid for any of your sales yet? I only ask because there's not really a long wait for your money with Managed Payments and I wonder if your angst is from being a new seller.

And for what it's worth, MP offers payouts on demand now (for a fee) just like PayPal did. At least, once you're established...

Most online venues are moving the same direction, managed payments.  I get paid once a week here and every two weeks on Amazon. It is getting where sellers need a little operating capital, more like a real business.

Here is a 2 minute article on eBay Managed Payments.

Good luck on whatever you do going forward.

You can't compare Door Dash with Ebay.  Is Ebay holding your money for 30 days because you have not sold in while?  That is to protect the buyer and ebay incase a refund is necessary.   Did you provide Ebay with any documents that they want like a driver's license ID?   Did you give ebay your social security number? If the answer is NO, you won't get a cent until you do.     Has your bank account be verified? If no, you need to get it verified to make sure that the account # is valid and ebay can deposit your money.  Once you have done everything that ebay requires,  you can set your account to get a daily payment.

In case you did not know, Ebay always releases the exact amount of the postage if you print through Ebay Shipping.

Actually, in the REAL world of jobs, most people have to wait at least a week (or two weeks -- sometimes a month) before getting paid.  It's been like that in the United States for over 150 years.

Those other jobs you mention are the exception, and not the rule.

And, as you'll discover (if you continue selling on eBay), under Managed Payments you will get paid after only a day or so.

Good luck.

In my previous life, If I worked on Monday, Dec 5th through Friday December 16th (2 weeks) I would get my 'paycheck'  on Monday the 19th...a full 14 days from the 1st day I worked.......

I am not saying I agree with holds, but that is just the way it has to be due to current conditions in the online marketplace with KYC rules, selling of counterfeit items, fraudulent sellers, etc........

In this day of widespread fraud, what makes you think that you will be paid quicker on other selling sites?  Unfortunately, honest sellers have to pay this price too.    Also, ebay will NOT allow you to close your account until 180 days after your last sold item has arrived.  They want to make sure that last customer is totally happy and won't do a chargeback.   So until then, a seller that wishes to leave is at the mercy of their last buyer not committing fraud.

Heck, my very first salaried job out of college paid me once a month. Moving to a job where I got paid every other week was actually an improvement in that sense!

If you’re new to selling it’s worse, u have to wait till it’s delivered then another 3-4 days (they do this to insure the new seller is legit) I can see why for those reasons BUT when you’ve been selling for years and still have to wait for “processing” is total bull**bleep** but it is nice we don’t have to pay PayPal anymore! I will say, since eBay took out PayPal they’ve become way more greedy! The fraud that’s committed from buyers and eBay awarding them is insane! The time it takes to appeal when a buyer opens a fraudulent case is even worse!!
