Managed Payments

Not applicable

I joined managed payments in March. I want to say how great it is. I can sell something Thursday night and have the money in the bank 6 days later. What the hell. I thought they said it was better than PayPal. With PayPal I had a debit card and never had to transfer money. The money was also available right away. Is eBay making interest on all of our money they hold from items sold Thursday night, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday?  We were taken advantage of.

I received 21 payments in July and that was with a holiday in the mix.

6 days is not common.

Relevant to your interest comment, you should check eBay's statement on the subject as they specifically identify the three times that they do not earn interest on the money.

Once ebay changed from Paypal to their new payment system sales went down to tube.

They made a Huge mistake going this way.

I personally loved Paypal. Though it usually only takes 3 days for me to get my Money from Ebay now. I liked being able to have money in Paypal to pay shipping. And Paypal shipping always gave me a discount-Ebay shipping does not.

I kept PayPal as my funding source for shipping and it charges my business card which earns me points and cash back.

eBay and Paypal split - that Huge mistake was inevitable.

Paypal and eBay both give the commercial discount.

@kraftique

MP can't affect your sales as it has nothing to do with sales.  It is merely a money processing system.

It does not affect buyers.  Most don't likely even know that MP exists.  Buyers GAIN a payment option so other than that, nothing changed for them.

However with that said, some sellers have reported, like you, that their sales when down when they went into MP.  I personally don't have any answer for that, anymore than I do for others that reported that their sales when way up when they entered MP.  It has all been reported.  Ups and downs.  Still not the responsibility of MP.

The shipping rate discounts on PayPal are the EXACT same as on Ebay.  So I don't know what is up with that.  Can you give some specifics?

That “Huge mistake” was also incredibly profitable for eBay shareholders.

Oh, are you sure? I stopped selling because of MP. I don't trust Ebay with my money. Now I don't buy of Ebay either. The money I made here, I spent here. So, in a round about way, it does effect sales.

@umccars

Yes I'm sure.  When PayPal was a seller's money processor, they didn't affect sales on Ebay either.  So why should MP?  It would make no sense on how a money processing program could affect a seller's sales since it has NOTHING to do with how you list your items, the rules for listing or anything else in regards to your listings themselves.

I know some want it to seem like MP is at fault for most everything on Ebay, even things they can't really explain, but in reality, it is not.  It is simply a money processing program.  NOTHING more.

Which, as we know, is exactly why it happened.  Lots of money was made by the shareholders.
