Late payment

I sold an item on Tuesday eve, was told that the processing should only take 24-48hours. Hasn't changed and just contacted ebay to find out that they don't even process payments over weekends. So that'll be nearly 6 days without payment. I told them that I won't be sending the item till that money is in my account. I can't understand how they are making this so difficult when before with PayPal it was instantly. Absolutely silly

Other selling platforms don't pay the seller until AFTER the item is delivered and then the buyer has up to 3 days to accept the item or request a return or make a complaint before the payment to be processed.

So really not so silly.

Be careful of your  shipping times if you do hold the item because  you may not see your  payment  until Tues, if  eBay sends it on Monday.  One theory  some  banks /credit union don't operate or process over the weekend.    Which  is understandable  but eBay operates around the clock.  I hope you get an answer from eBay.

It sounds like you have your payouts set for weekly.  You can set them up for daily, but they still don't process on the weekends, just like banks.

PayPal put the money in your  account instantly and they waited on the payment to clear. ADYEN Isn't willing to pay eBay until the money clears their account. The payment is removed instantly from the buyer's account but it could take a day or two to fully clear to ADYEN. Then it has to go to eBay, and then to your account. So now instead of buyer to PayPal to seller instantly it's buyer to ADYEN to eBay to seller. That extra stop explains the extra time it takes. Then factor in payments aren't processed during weekends.  

Yep, PayPal sho nuff spoiled us. They did.

How long the payment takes to process, depends on the buyer funding source.

I've seen some credit card payments take a week to process.

you are right. I always got my money instantly from PayPal even before I shipped. Never had a problem. what's going on here is that the bean counters at Ebay decided that they can make millions on not just the fees but the interest on holding peoples money for days at a time. Worldwide holding the money for just a few days must be generating enormous free money for Ebay. JUST ANOTHER MONEY GRAB. I already began posting on Reverb, US Audiomart and Audiogon. Ebay is out of control.
