Issue with PayPal using the wrong credit card when purchasing shipping labels on Ebay.

I am having an issue with Ebay where when I am purchasing shipping labels for items I am selling and I choose to pay for the shipping labels via my PayPal, the payment is sent to my Discover credit card, rather than my Mastercard account, which is my preferred payment method on my PayPal account. I went to Ebay customer support and they told me this issue is with PayPal, so I went to PayPal customer support and they're telling me this is an issue with Ebay, where I have to choose the Mastercard payment selection when at checkout, but there is no option I can find to do this. When I go to purchase a shipping label, the only two options are to have the payment withdrawn from my funds or to use PayPal, but no option to change which credit card PayPal will use to process the transaction. It just automatically does it through my Discover card, rather than my preferred Mastercard account.

Is there a  way fix this, because neither Ebay or PayPal's customer support are of any help.

Just encase if you have not tried this yet.

Go to you account Settings

https://accountsettings.ebay.com/uas

Then go to Payment Information/Payments and see what you have

I have several accounts in PayPal but only one Credit Card on file with eBay and it is set to use for Shipping or if I owe eBay anything.

@ba359986

PayPal account info ....

Payment via PayPal for your eBay Shipping labels would be a pre-approved/automatic payment.  This process relies on a different "preferred payment method" than the one used for regular online payments.

You need to navigate to your PayPal account's automatic payments page to set the method.

Here’s how to find your automatic payments on the PayPal website:
1. Go to Settings.  (the little gear icon)
2. Click Payments.  (light blue banner across the top of the page)
3. Click View next to Manage automatic payments.
4. Select the merchant.   (eBay Inc Shipping)

Input your cc's & save the info.

Do this for every eBay Inc Shipping merchant that you may see.

Re: Issue with PayPal using the wrong credit card when purchasing shipping labels on Ebay.

BTW, not just for shipping labels, PayPal presents the wrong default /pref pymnt  method within the PayPal 'pay' option, alongside the the credit card 'pay' option, at checkout, when I submit an item 'offer' also. So this solution of removing the other cards, I did... But in doing so, it defeats a large chunk of control over my own account and PayPal's intended purpose and convenience for me. PayPal is a self-proclaimed 'wallet' - for multiple cards, not just one. This should be a non-issue and it never used to be. I ask you, who in this world is going to hand over their stash of credit cards so that PayPal can choose which payment method to charge?? Absolutely no one. Don't even get me started on 'autopay' automatic payments that ignore the default/preferred pymnt method I have designated within my account every time they charge. I'm just baffled.

It isn't Ebay doing the choosing, it's PayPal.
