Immediate Payment

We keep getting this error on our listings:

  • If this item sells by a Best Offer, you will not be able to require immediate payment.

Is anyone else having this issue, is it slowing sales,  is there a solution to this?

This occurs when trying to edit listings.

To add onto this post, I am also getting this error:

664 listings failed due to errors

I can address one of your issues. 'Immediate payment required' will apply to the BIN price. If you accept an offer, it doesn't.

This is not an error, it's just an FYI message that has always been there. Actually, it is now out of date, because eBay has started to require buyers to pre-pay (or pre-authorize) payment when they make an offer. See the screenshot below, that offer for one of your items, can't be submitted without pre-paying for it.

This will probably reduce the number of offers that you get, and your sales, because many buyers will not prepay for items, and for many buyers, eBay has actually double-charged them because eBay has charged them again instead of proceeding with the pre-authorization. So you can expect that you will get fewer offers, and fewer sales as a result.

FYI, since I looked at that listing ...

I think the next step to open your puzzle box is to slide this piece out as shown below.

Then look for something at the other end of that piece that is now free to move once that piece is out of the way.

One thing with wooden puzzles, if it is very humid then they can swell and stick, so it's possible that parts that are supposed to move are swollen and sticking. Be careful not to force them, but try keeping it in a dry area for a few days, to let the pieces dry out and shrink.

@lacemaker3

Is this still able to be done

CANCEL OFFERS REQUIRE PAYMENT METHOD

It is on the Buyer Management page
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements

Scroll down to the bottom and there is a section:
Buyer Payment Requirements

There is a checkbox for: Require buyers to provide payment method before they make an offer – Untick that box

That scenario is still testing and does NOT yet apply to all buyers, just a selected group.

Yes, as I said, eBay is "starting to" require immediate payment for offers, and it is set as default for all sellers, so unless the seller is aware of it and has unchecked it, then it will be applied to their listings. The group of buyers has been expanding, so it's not really a test, it's a phased rollout.

Yes, I believe so. I didn't mention it because I didn't think that OP would be interested, and I didn't want my answer to reach the TL:DR level.
