Did you mean:

I vote no on managed payments.

The beauty of economics is that we get to vote with our dollars. Unlike politics, where you get one vote, we can register the intensity of our desire with the money that we spend. Or don't spend. In this case, I am registering the intensity of my No vote on managed payments by not selling on eBay any more.

Granted, I am small potatoes: I am a regular consumer, and have used eBay since 1999 to buy, and occasionally sell off the stuff that I no longer want.  I make my money elsewhere, and don't need eBay. I generally have sold between $2000 - 4000 per year, so they won't miss me. But I do believe that there are many, many, many small timers like me that don't want to deal with the hassle, and frankly don't like being strong armed.

In May I was forced to either accept managed payments and give eBay my checking account info, or stop selling. I am no longer selling. I vote no.

I'm a small timer and they didn't strong arm me to sign up, I signed up before I was invited.

As far as a hassle, it's no harder then it is with Pay Pal.

Have a great day.

Unfortunately that's probably true, which means that the "intensity of [your] desire" to vote No will go completely unnoticed.

I would suggest that you just do what benefits you the most, either continue to sell here or go elsewhere, because it will not affect eBay at all; they are going to continue to do what they want to do. Good luck.

You are correct. We will not be missed.

Put your hand in a bucket of water.

Pull your hand out.

The hole left by your hand will simulate how much you will be missed.

(would be the same for me. just a grain of sand on the eBay beach)

Yeah that works really well in America doesn't it?   Everyone hates comcast/infinity, yet they still use it.   Everyone has something negative to say about facebook, yet they still use it.

And here you are complaining about giving ebay the same information you gave paypal to sell in the first place, people are sick and tired of hearing people like you cry and complain, go sell on facebook marketplace and stop wasting people's time.

Hey, you didn't have to reply, so it was your choice to have your time wasted.

The difference is that I chose to use PayPal. I have control over what goes into and out of my bank, and I receive my payments easily. eBay is removing choice and effectively disallowing competition for financial transactions. The number of institutions that I allow to engage in EFT on my checking account is very small.

They won't miss me, but I do think that the small timers add up to a lot of people. I also think that eBay is ripe for disruption by a small player. One that allows for easy, small time sales, choice in payments (maybe Venmo, Zelle, PayPal etc.).

We shall see! But I do feel for the eBay sellers that do this as a career. If stuff like this doesn't spur you to hedge your bets in terms of platform, then your margins are going to continue to get squeezed by rising commissions, fewer choices, etc.
