I'm desperate at this point. Someone please help.

Hello.  I'm new to this forum so apologies for any faux paus but I'm desperate.  I'll try to be brief as I'm literally in tears and at the end of my rope with this issue and Ebay couldn't care less.  Everything I say is true and accurate and ebay even agrees but refuses to help for some inexplicable reason.  Short version:  I sold an item for around $1,400.  Needed to add new bank account under managed payouts according to ebay alert.  Added Chime.  Did the auto verify, did the micro transactions.  No payout.  Day after day I contact ebay and get myriad answers ranging from there is a "glitch" on your account to "your payment will 100% be there tomorrow because I can see it's already been sent."  Bear in mind that this is probably the 3rd or 4th. Bank account I've had to add within the last six months because of this so called glitch on my account that eBay cannot seem to fix . 10 hours on the phone over several days later they advise me to start over and relink my bank.   I advise them that I am not going to ship the item until I have some indication that my account can receive payouts and I will be happy to cancel the sale.  I also tell them that I cannot contact my customer because it's a verified authenticity item although I have no idea what that has to do with anything and that I do not want to get a negative feedback from the customer for not shipping within three days or whatever. Because I've been selling for years and have never had any negative feedback.  EBay insists that they will contact the customer on my behalf, which of course never happened.  They also say they will remove any negative feedback caused by this issue.  Also, never happened.  Fast forward to today, and here's what's happened.  Eventually I cancelled the sale when I realized that Ebay's incompetence in helping me with this issue was not getting me anywhere. In the meantime, I have gotten negative feedback from the customer. Horrible emails from the customer calling me a scammer and cussing me out. And. The icing on the cake, of course. EBay is now saying that I owe them $1400. Even though my bank never received a dime, nor did I. The customer has been refunded.  I cancelled the sale and his last email to me said "at least Ebay refunded me".  eBay insists that the money is somewhere in the pipeline. And. It's somehow my responsibility to work it out with my bank so that they can my payout  so that I can then get it from Chime and pay it back to eBay.  You literally cannot make this stuff up. I got an email today saying that my bank account will be debited for $1400 within the next 72 hours.  My payout screen shows $1400 negative.  The payout shows sent but then shows "blocked".  Whatever that means.   I've been predicting this would happen the entire time. I've called no less than 20 times and spent 10 hours or more dealing with this and I have no sale, negative feedback, threatening messages from customer and now Ebay is going to steal $1400 from my bank account.   I know I'm upset, but I can honestly say that this is the worst customer service and probably the worst business experience overall of my entire adult life.  I will never again sale nor even buy an item on eBay. For any reason after this. But what do I do now? I have no idea where the money is.  Neither does Chime.  It is a brand new account with zero deposits except the two micro deposits.  I'm gonna try again to contact them today, but why would today be any different? They're going to debit me for $1400 that I never received and if they do, I guess all I can do is call my lawyer and sue eBay. It probably will do no good, but this is the kind of thing that you can't just let go.  They are ebay. One of the biggest companies in the world. And they expect me to fix this issue.  Any help is appreciated, but please be nice about it if I'm missing something here bc I'm at the end of my rope.

No I mean that according to Ebay there is a "glitch" on my account that causes the banner saying "you need to update your bank account info on file in order to receive payouts" to appear every time I log in, even though my account is verified.   So, I keep trying and it doesn't work and ebay keeps telling me to try another account and here we are.

OK, so you listed this item even though eBay was telling you that there might be a problem with payouts?

Does the name on your eBay account EXACTLY match the name on your bank account(s)?

Are you saying that payments have been "lost" before this one? Why would you have to add four bank accounts? Have you checked all four bank accounts for a deposit?

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I don't have any suggestions for you. Are you making sure to call eBay during regular business hours for California, not weekend or nights? Might get better assistance.

This most recent bank account matches exactly.   The middle initial was the problem in a previous bank account but this new chime account matches exactly.   I have a supervisor at ebay helping me now.  I'm on hold but he says something blocked the payout and I have to get a stop payment through the bank so they will send the payout back to ebay because he says that when they fix whatever is blocking the payout the money will go through.

If eBay said you were paid you should have shipped. I don't  understand why eBay didn't tell you items costing over $1,000 will be held for 21 days. Even with signature delivery showing the buyer received it in 3 days they are going to hold that payment. It's a new policy. I understand you don't have to be a new seller now to have a payment hold for high value items.

21 days would have been Sep 3. AFTER Sept 3 your payment will be sent. BUT eBay doesn't send payments  to your account on the weekends.  The next bank business day would've been TOMORROW had you shipped it. I have no idea where in the pipeline your payment went.

I have a feeling that eBay refunded the buyer because you didn't send it. Then you cancelled the transaction which automatically refunds the buyer, but eBay is supposed to see they already got a refund and not refund twice. You now might have a bigger headache than you think you have. If they were refunded by eBay and then by a cancellation and the money wasn't there eBay wants to be repaid. What a mess you got yourself in.

Just to be upfront with you I did not read your original post.  I have great difficulty reading a wall of text.  No spacing or paragraphs.  It drives my eyes crazy.

Sometimes this can happen for some of the oddest of reasons.  Go to your account settings for MP.  Clear the fields completely, leave nothing in them.  The re-enter your information and see if that helps.

And before you even do that, read this.

I sympathize. I had to reconfirming my new bank account for over a year before eBay got it together with managed payments It has been  nightmare, I will never sell items over 100.00 on this site anymore. I have been here 15 years, It has become too risky with scammers. I have about 1 scammed sale a month, I  don't list what I cant afford to loose. listing on eBay is more like gambling than selling these day. with ever sale I feel I just rolled the dice.

But the scammers are NOT because you are in MP.  The misbehaving buyers have been around for years.  It just seems that during the pandemic there are far more of them willing to steal from anyone they can.
