Ever get to the point where you've said "I have had enough!"? Well, I think I am at that point with ebay. A couple of weeks ago I received a notice from ebay saying that needed some more information about my business account and that I needed to upload some confirming documents. So, I uploaded my resale certificate and business license. Couple of days later I get the same message so I upload it again. A Couple of days later I get the same message only this time they added that they will withhold my Managed Payments (which they implemented last year when they jettisoned Paypal and started doing all of that in-house). Couple of days later I get a message saying they are withholding MY MONEY as they have not received the requested documentation. So, I contacted customer support and spoke to one of their customer service reps who told me that they don't have the information on file so I had her wait while I sent it a third time. Mind you, I had sent all of my banking information last year when I was FORCED to buy into their Managed Payments agenda.
Fast forward to today. They have now been holding MY MONEY for 2 weeks. The agent told me they would have this settled on Monday. MONDAY? Why can't this be settled today? No answer. I told her this is my operating capital and that I need that money to pay bills. No answer. She mentioned something about the matter being reviews by ebay's "Back Office". Sounds like a Dark Web operation to me. Anyway, these people cannot be contacted. You HAVE to talk to a customer rep who, basically, cannot do anything. So, I have to wait until Monday. What to do? I am now at a point where I am considering opening up my own auction website. I have just about had enough of ebay trying to micromanage MY business. It is time to look for an alternate solution.

Lets say disputes with credit card company: paypal would help and you would win most cases that are unfair and eBay says that they will help, but sellers lose disputes. Wanna guess why? Becuase MP does not belong to eBay and eBay customer support is terrible and unable to do anything, they can only talk.
It seems that i am still not forced to join MP so guess i will keep on selling for as long as i can use Paypal.
I'm not sure you have your facts quite straight on Chargebacks. There are a lot of sellers that have come to the threads complaining about how they lost a chargeback in PP. I think you may be seeing what you want to see and not what is actually happening. Chargebacks are handled in MP just as they were in PP with one exception. The MP version doesn't allow for you to type in some additional information into the claim. You have to call in to add any info. Now that is a hassle and MP is aware of it. Hopefully we will see improvement on this process sooner rather than later. FYI I have had Chargebacks in MP and I have won them.
But if you get so many Chargebacks that this is the deciding factor for you on whether to stay selling on Ebay or not, I guess online selling may not be a great choice for you.
"Becuase MP does not belong to eBay..." Humm I'm not sure where that came from, but it is certainly NO true.
Now customer support is very problematic, it is very hard to say any different and stay honest about stuff. It is in terrible condition right now and they say they are working on it, but it sure is taking a very long time.
For sellers that have only sold on Ebay the transition into MP is particularly difficult. Many think Ebay is being unique in their rules when it is actually Paypal that is the unicorn. All the other larger sites similar to Ebay have had their own payment processes for years. They are all similar to MP and some have rules that you may like even less.

Ditto. I closed my store a couple of months ago (and am saving a nice chunk of money that way) and am letting my listings time out. Had been selling--and buying here for over 20 years. Mangled Payments is a deal breaker.

Lets say this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTCqXCbKD9U&t=559s
I could find you countless examples about Managed payments chargebacks and situation is terrible.
Now i am not getting many chargebacks, but when it comes to managed payments number of chargebacks increase many times which is ridiculous....
Have not lost 1 chargeback on paypal either way, but with managed payments you basically get 0 suport for certain reasons of the claim.
Also managed payments do not belong to eBay and that's a fact 😉 Ebay made a deal with a company named Adyen (pretty sure that's the name) to manage payments. There are countless examples of sellers trying to get information from eBay about this or that, but eBay reps can't even access certain information because PAYMENTS ARE NOT MANAGED BY EBAY.
If you want to defend Managed payments that's on you, but please get some facts straight.

Likely it is just what i am gonna do. Managed payments are terrible... Now eBay is even planning to launch some extra website where governments can access and remove any listing they want without any explanation...
Situation is getting worse and worse.

I never said sellers win all chargebacks, so don't misrepresent. I am confident that are many Chargebacks in MP that sellers lost just as if you did the same search regarding PP, there are all kinds of stories of Chargebacks lost.
I have seen NOTHING that even suggests that the number of Chargebacks in MP has INCREASED over what it was in PP.
Adyen is the MONEY PROCESSOR for Ebay. Ebay HIRED Adyen to perform this function. Just like for some international sellers Ebay hired Payoneer to handle the money processing for these sellers.
Ebay does "manage" Managed payments which is evidenced by the information offered to you on you Seller Hub. You never had anything like that when PP was the money processor.
If you are interested in learning more about Adyen, simply do a Google search, there is all kinds of info out there.

I have no need to "defend" MP. Stating facts about how the program works has absolutely NOTHING to do with defending it. There are things I like about MP and other things I do not. For me it is a mixed bag.

Now you are just switching subjects. While the link is interesting information, the Youtube video is full of questions and accusations and not any real facts other than that that Ebay already provided in the link above.
Either way, this has NOTHING to do wit MP or the conversation we were having. If you'd like to start a thread on this subject, they are easy to do and then we can discuss this further if you'd like.
