How to handle a partial refund?

I just sold something on ebay.de (so you probably can't see the listing - the two sites don't seem to communicate well), and now I need to do a partial refund; I intended to give free shipping, but somehow that didn't succeed.

I now sent the surplus amount to the buyer, but how do I fix this in ebay? I  would of course prefer not to have to pay fees for this part of the payment.

Re: How to handle a partial refund?

Are you in managed payments (I'm pretty sure this is rolled out to Germany) or Paypal?  In either case, the refund should be reflected in your account unless you are in managed payments but refunded through Paypal.

Re: How to handle a partial refund?

When I received the payment, I was doing PayPal, but today I applied for (not with joy!) managed payments, but I don't think the change has taken place yet. But I refunded via PayPal in any case.

@unustus

eBay doesn’t give credit for partial refunds. At least they didn’t on the USA site (dot com) when PayPal was the payment processor.

Re: How to handle a partial refund?

Yes, in my PayPal account this payment is clearly marked as Refunded, so I suppose all  is all right. Thank you for your help.
