How to add a new payment method for eBay shipping labels?

The only options for paying for labels are Pending Payouts and my PayPal account.  Since I'm now in Managed Payments, I want to draw from the bank account into which my payments have been deposited, or add that debit card for paying for the labels.  

I have not been able to find a way to do it.  

How will I pay for labels once my PayPal account goes to zero?  My pending payouts are not sufficient for the labels.

I have seen other people mention funding their PayPal account by tying a credit card to it.  I don't know how that works though.

You can use Pirateship to print your postage and use a credit/debit card for payment.

Go to PayPal.  Near the top of the page click on Pay & Get Paid.  When that screen opens look for Wallet and click on Banks & Cards.  You will be able to link bank accounts and/or cards here.  Once you have linked what you want, on this same page you will see Payment Preferences on the right, click on that and you will be able to set where payments you make are charged to or taken from.

Note:  I am not sure if there is any difference for this between personal and business PayPal accounts.  I have a business PayPal account.

I have added my debit card to PayPal, but the payments come from my PayPal balance first, which is not what I want.  PayPal does not seem to offer me the option to go to the debit card before drawing on the PayPal balance.

Did you go to Payment preferences, after adding your debit card, select and confirm it as your preference?

But why do we even need Paypal involved? eBay can just let us fund from our bank accounts why is Paypal involved, just to let them 'wet their beaks'?

How is that an advantage over paying directly with funds from each buyer's payment to you, which is an option on the label purchasing page?
