An item was purchased and paid for and I printed the label within hours ( it was purchased last night, 11/30) and I wake up this morning and there is a hold on the funds. No open case, no communication, just more stating funds on hold until 12/11. I viewed the tracking status later to day and see that the item is in the postal system. So I do a live chat to ask why there is a hold( I have sold same type of items within the last 30 days and there weren't any holds on them and everything went smoothly. So why are my payment being held for 2 weeks and longer??? The buyer will get the item in 2 or 3 days( sent priority mail), but I have to wait half a month for my money!!!! The agent just typed in standard answer(which I had read all of it before and none of it for my situation). I explained all of that and she just copied and paste same old stuff. She couldn't provide any reason for the hold. Well, how about this, you place holds on thousands and thousands of people 's money and you make interest off our money while we have to wait for weeks for no reason. Your feed are too high and then you hold the little money we do get. I guess it's just time to move on. Before eBay handled the payment I got it when the buyer paid, now you can hold if for weeks for no reason of than you CAN. You raise fees and now you hold the payment to earn more interest off the little bit some of us do get.

All new sellers are subject to new seller holds, and to be honest, I can't believe they released your others so quickly.
The fees were posted; they don't make interest while holding that I know of, and eBay got you good sales. Hang in there.

You're considered a new seller and the last item sold, sold for more then the other item's you've sold.
No, they don't earn any interest on the funds that are being held.

I have been On eBay for more than 10 years, that's not new.
How do you know that they do not earn interest in money in their account. Any SMART business that holds funds in their account has the money in an Interest bearing account.

Since the funds are not in Ebays bank account, how would they make any interest?

I know this can be very confusing. It is because the rule for New Sellers also applies to sellers returning to selling after 90+ days away. So you do qualify for the rule.

Because they haven't told you the reason yet does NOT mean there is no reason. If you haven't received an email, contact Ebay and find out what is happening.

Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

eBay is the worst, plain and simple.
I sold and ship an item on August 1st. I never received my money, its been on hold ever since... I've been calling eBay every week and I'm told:
"Yes Sir, you are correct, you have not sold for $600 and therefore do not needs to provide any additional information. But we're having technical issue and the IT Department is working on it, sorry about that"
...29 days!!! IT Department's been "working on it" for for 29 days!!! And they still don't know when my money will be on my bank account! 5 more days? 5 more weeks? 5 more years? Who knows...
eBay can not be trusted, plain and simple.
