Having problems adding a bank account

I'm having an issue adding a new bank account to my eBay account. I'm entering everything it asks me to and then it asks me to enter the full account number of my current bank account to verify that it's me. Once I enter the account number it tells me it's failed. I've tried several times and every time it's the same result. It told me to contact support on the website. eBay chat tells me that live support isn't available. So I tried having them call me. That too isn't available. I called the support number and it tells me that the line is no longer valid and to use the website for support. (Which I already tried.) I then called the fraudulent activity number hoping to get an answer as to why I can't contact eBay and after following all of the prompts on the phone it too told me that the phone line was no longer active. What gives? It's like eBay is on lock down.

Are you sure your name on your bank account matches your registered ebay name?  That was my problem.

You only enter "ROUTING NUMBER" not entire bank account#.   Very important NAME on bank account must be EXACT MATCH to name on EBAY account profile.    Social Security# you provide must be for same person as BANK ACCOUNT and EBAY Account.

Does this also apply if a middle name or initial is listed on a debit card?

If a middle initial is on the debit card, I would assume the middle initial is also on the checking account, so yes, the registered ebay name must also include the middle initial.

Same problem and can't get any help!! I am going to be forced to look for another selling platform. I have monies I can get to because eBay says there is a problem with my bank and it won't let me add another because the problem with my first bank get get resolved!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any all eBay seems to be doing is hiding! they need to get back with Pay Pal ASAP!!!
