Has Anyone Survived a Periodic performance review Is this a way to Obstruct Business and CLose You?
Ebay did this before to my son, asked for a few documents, he provided,
then more - he provided
they they took his $22,000 of payouts and said he will NOT see the money EVER bcs he was just under 18
when his father now deceased opened the account.
So basically EBAY stole the money and the business from my son.
Now they have notified me of "performance review" - I am terrified! I have been a loyal seller of 22 years, but
i am very concerned as I think its a way for them to cover their butd to find some "legal" way to illegally obstruct my business.
Has anyone actually PASSED this review?? Or is it a death sntence?

I don't believe eBay can keep the money. If they can't pay him they have to turn the unclaimed funds over to his state. Check on that.

"I don't believe eBay can keep the money. If they can't pay him they have to turn the unclaimed funds over to his state."

Is this in the TOS? I've read where both situations are possible. Has anyone come back here to tell the ending of their post? When we 'agree' to the Terms Of Service seldom is every word read, so we agree to whatever it says. It's confusing and we tend to trust ebay since a lot of us have been here for a very long time. We need income, so it's understandable that we try to roll with the punches/situation and adjust and adapt but to have money held and, from what I've read here and other places, sometimes money is lost. I sure do hope it can be recovered through the state, but is it really? I wish SOMEONE would tell us if they did and how long it took. I've even heard that court cases are lost to ebay because we agree to it when we 'sign' the TOS. True?? False?? To the poster: Please let us know what happens to you. (I think you're fine doing the verification, by the way, if ebay agrees with the banking source, of course.)
Thanks.

If eBay is unable to process your payout eventually you'll get a parting of the ways letter and be told your funds are being put into the "escheatment process."
That means sent to your state unclaimed property.
One time I searched myself in a state I used to live in and I found unclaimed money on a lay-a-way I forgot I had and a phone deposit went there as well. I proved my identity and got the money back.

"death sentence"? eBay cannot take your son's money. Something is amiss.

Just curious: How did eBay know that the owner of the account had died and that his under-age son had taken over the account? I guess what I'm saying is that, even though underage is a no-no on eBay, in this case, why not just quietly change nothing and take over the account? Not saying it's right, just wondering exactly what happened.

the back story has some holes in it....
however, if this is your account and has been...and based SOLELY on your selling history, this review may consist simply of proof of ownership of the big ticket items. I am guessing the 2K bag may have triggered the review. You are seling items that are frequently counterfeited, so that might be why.
Just comply with the review....

Yes, the back story is not really complete.
But are we sure the OP is referring to the account she has? I ask because she does have current listings.
