I fell for one of the many scam GPU postings:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/174652644162
I am wondering, how likely is it I will be able to get a refund? Is there anything I can do to expedite this process? I have put up a cancellation request. I have been watching out for a card for a few weeks and finally saw this one, and fearing it would be sold out from under me I quickly checked the pictures, details, and grazed over the description, which I read as "This is an amazing card, the best you can get in the image. I decided to get a 3090 so I wont be needing it anymore". I also attempted to contact the seller. What should I do next?

What makes you think you've been scammed? It sounds like you simply ordered the wrong unit. If the seller won't cancel your order, you'll probably receive it. You will have the option to return it later, but you'll have to cite a remorse return, so the seller can deny it as well. Maybe you can sell it here. Good luck to you...

I saw after the fact that he said "you only get the image" in parens. Which doesnt match the product name or "about this product" section.

I do not think that the good ole "you only get the image thing is going to work for the "seller" because he listed it under:
If the item does not arrived by the last day of the est. arrived date which I would suspect would be around March 6 since the seller is using expedited shipping, open an item not received case against the seller.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds
The seller will only have 3 or 4 days to respond. After that time frame has expired, escalate the claim and eBay will make a final decision (mostly likely) in your favor, close the case and refund you your money.
Ebay's MBG is gold. I have never had a problem getting refunded when a transaction went bad. Just take a breath, follow the steps and you fill be fine.
If you are at any time unsure of the process, come back to these boards, there are many experienced eBay users here that are more than happy to help you.
Good luck.

Seller listed it under used: Look up the terminology and it says that the item should function as intended so I think you have a case against the seller. Sorry but my chance to edit my post with this info ran out.

Expanding on this - does the linked product (in the "about this product") and name not need to match whats being sold?

Once you receive the image, go to the resolution center below and select, the item doesn't match the description.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

Yes. And as @kensgiftshop said. Open that case when the fraudulent item arrives. Item does not match description or photos.
If that moron scammer was really smart, they would have taken a picture of the picture and put that in the listing...not that they are would get away with that either...🙄

Sweet, I appreciate it. Fingers crossed that everything goes well!

No worries as you simply open a claim to get your money back. If it doesn't arrive by estimated delivery date file for item not received. If it's not what you ordered Item not as described.
