As a frequent buyer on here on eBay I abhor the new immediate payment feature on offers and auctions. I urge sellers to turn it off, and fight it becoming the only option. Unfortunately I know there are scammers out there who won't pay, but as someone who takes pride in making quick payments, but also likes the control of choosing how I pay when I pay (pay in 4, split payments, etc.), this feature takes it out of my hands, frankly costs you my potential business. Looking through the forums here it seems there are many buyers who share my feelings.
If eBay can figure out how do make it so we, as buyers, still have full options for the payments, or have it maybe based on feedback level so frequent buyers with perfect records don't have to deal with it maybe it can work, but as it is now I will avoid buyers who use (and I am guessing many of them don't even know about it being an option)
Just my two cents as an eBay addict. Maybe this feature will end up saving me money 🙂

I totally agree!!!!! I'm even a seller. I don't have immediate payment required on ANY of my listings because I want buyers to take advantage of my combined shipping discounts especially for the international buyers. I rarely get a non paying buyer. Most of my buyers purchase more than one item at a time.

It's the seller's job to state within their item listing to potential buyers "No Autopay" if they have elected not to participate
Sellers on ebay need to devote the time to keep themselves informed of ebay policy changes

As it won't seem to let me edit it now, caught an error in my post
"but as it is now I will avoid buyers who use " this should say sellers!

There were SO MANY non payers that Sellers asked for this type (as a majority) and doubtful many will change it.
To waste 4 days 'waiting' to cancel for non payment after an item was up for an 'average' of a 7 day auction, having to 'relist' and then wait 'another 7 days- turning into 18 days..was just TOO much for many 'auction type sellers'.
Since well over 85% of all listings are 'buy it now' and it's easy to simply put all items as 'immediate payment required' (and yes, a seller STILL can put things in their 'CART' and then pay at once, anyway they choose) and again,
the 'majority' wanted it as well as the overwhelming majority are not even auction items in the first place, so the overall consensus was 'it may hurt 10 sellers while it helps 90'.

I have 3 stores and Ebay will NOT let me edit them. Told me I am part of their experiment.

If eBay can figure out how do make it so we, as buyers, still have full options for the payments,
----------------------------------------------------
Seems that they are working on that with auto-pay not being done until day 3 so that shipping can be combined if buyer wins more than 1 auction.
Not sure if it does, but it seem that it would allow a buyer to pay in the meantime with a payment method of their choosing.
Not sure if this if site wide, or a limited test. I have seen no word from eBay about it.

It seems most of the buyers that have commented to me feel the same way you do.
I turned it off in all my listings right after it started. When i put up new listings i always check to make sure that box is not checked. I have had a few non paying buyers but too few to make me change. Thank you for being an ebay addict.

It is at the bottom of the Block Bidders page. It can be turned on and off there.

Just check your settings on the regular, some posts have been appearing saying the Auto had been turned back on, even once disabled by seller's (experienced seller's have confirmed this also)
I have been imported from Australia and this is my posting ID
