My payout is on hold for 30 days. The buyer has received the item and has posted positive feedback. A rep told me that it is ebay policy to hold funds on sales greater than $500. This was a lie. I sold 3 items last year, two were over $500 and one was over $5,000. No fund holds were issued. Ebay gets interest on our collective money that is held - that is theft. My buyer received her item, is happy. I WANT MY MONEY. Have been a member for 17 years and this is just outrageous.

You've only sold 4 items lately, so they will hold the funds for awhile.
If the items sells for more then $1000, they'll hold the funds for 30 days.

You're selling very expensive items and ebay wants to make sure the sales go through (along with the authenticity guaranteed COAs) as they should.
You will get your money, just not immediately.
And BTW, ebay doesn't collect interest on the money they're holding.

This item did not go through authenticity. The buyer has the item and is wearing it! I just want my funds. Are you 100% certain that ebay does not collect interest on all the funds that are on hold?

You may be a member for 17 years but rules change. You need to keep up with those changes. Infrequent sellers now have their payments held. Payments on expensive items or listings in high risk categories can be held. A bad buying experience can result in a payment hold.
If eBay did earn interest it is not theft. Nowhere does the FTC or eBay say they will pay you interest on your money or they will pass on any money made off of your money.

You'll have to wait for it... last year could be as recent as 4 months ago or much longer, and eBay will often put holds on funds if a seller hasn't sold anything in months or longer. If you're selling expensive things they may even ask you to show receipts at some point.

Ebay's page about holds is misinforming. It should be taught at Harvard on how to misinform. Ebay writes that the payment holds are for specific reasons. Ebay writes, holds can be for up to 30 days. Not true.
I do not have a new account. I have been selling consistently for 8 years. My current feedback score is 99.5%. I have no open cases. My account is above standard. After over 1 hour with chat reps in Pakistan I demanded a manager. Believe it or not, the guy transferred me to one. I honestly thought he was going to pass the call to his buddy across from him and play me. But I got Phoebe, a rep in the US. Perfect! She called me on the phone and we spoke for over an hour. I told her EVERYTHING wrong with ebay. From allowing customers to leave negative feedback about "non delivery" before the estimated delivery date to my current problem, my funds were held yesterday. No warning, no email as they say in the first paragraph on the page about holds. No changes in my selling patterns or behavior, no violations, no problems. Phoebe said that it was called a "casual hold" and ebay does this sometimes. It's done by an algorithm. Yes, everybody is using AI. If AI is going to be the death of us, which it is, then let it be the death of them too. She said there is nothing wrong with my account and no reason she could see why my payments were held. By they way, they're being held until December 6. 60 days. Remember, the ebay rules say "up to 30 days". Then she told me it's because I'm shipping internationally. Fine, but where is that in the "rules"? Where is that on the page about holds? She agreed, there is nothing written for us. Only say up to 30 days.
So, those of you with your theories, it is not necessarily true. They can be held for "no reason" that anybody at ebay even knows. Perhaps there is a metric messing with the AI? She said she would bring my particular case to IT to see if there was anything odd. We'll see. As of now, funds release date is Dec 6/7. No good ebay.

"If we place a hold on your funds, it will usually be resolved within 30 days, but in rare circumstances it may take longer. For most orders, adding tracking information can help you receive your funds faster."
