Fees were based on amount higher than the selling amount?

Order total was $850. Fees were based on $933.94. 

shipping was free. I paid for the shipping label myself so buyer did not pay shipping.

so if sales tax was 7.25% that would make the total $911.62 + $0.30 = $911.62 


Where did 933.94 come from?

Maybe the sales tax was higher than the 7.25% you are quoting? (calcs to about 9.8%- many cities/states are that high)

Are you sure of the buyer's (delivery location) sales tax rate? I only ask because your $850 item would have cost me $928.63 where I live. (I pay 9 1/4%.)

You are absolutely correct. I Googled ‘California sales tax’ prior to my post and it said 7.25% but that was for California city. Delivery location was to Redwood City, CA which is 9.8%. Thank you
