Am I the last person to realize this?
I've been frustrated by my final value fee calculation coming up a penny or two different that the eBay calculation.
Duh! Order of operations! Round function is applied to the variable rate part of fees then added to fixed charge. I had been rounding the total.
If you are using Excel to track or reconcile, you may find the following helpful:
The formula to calculate final value fees is "=.30+ROUND(buyerPayment*.1235,2)" where buyer payment is price + shipping charge + sales tax.
In the downloadable MP transaction report, the field/column labeled "Gross transaction amount" alone is misleading and not helpful as a basis of fee calculation because it ignores sales tax paid.
In that report derive Total "buyerPayment" = "Gross transaction amount" - "eBay collected tax". Using "-" not "+" because eBay collected tax is expressed as a negative.
All good intentions!

And this is just one of the 52 reasons that Managed Payments has failed all sellers!. It is completely not transparent, hides the information we actually need across 5 different "reports", is so cumbersome to use, coss more than paypal( most users will see a decrease in fees.... not), charges us a fvf of up to 14.5% on the state sales tax depending on category, takes a minimum of 5 -6 days to hit our accounts, wont deposit to our paypal where we want it, no reliable usable year end tax repors- just csv files that contain hundreds of pages of raw data instead of a simple user friendly year end total sumary like paypal provided, cant even see out real time invoice- just tried to figure out why my invoice jumped $80 the other day and even Ebay CS could not figure it out- they said just to trust it!?.....
Holds our money for weeks on end for simple returns or cancelations- basically a forced free loan to ebay- increases their cash flow by hundreds of millions of dollars by hurting our small business cash flow and confiscating our money from other sales to "ensure" that we pay a refund! 20 years and top rated- we have always refunded a return when we get it back- paypal did not hold our funds
I could go on but ebay just exhausted me as a selling platform.
Managed payments does not keep everything in one place as advertised-
1. now i need to transfer money from a checking account i did not want to open
2. now i need to purchase more software to understand MP reports
3. now my money is in constant limbo and its anyones guess when it will be paid- lookout for weekends or holidays
4. nothing is linked correctly- if you get a ups charge 2 weeks after sale- it takes 5 clicks to figure out what the orig sale was from.
5. information is spread out over too many report instead of every scrap of related info on one simple page like paypal
These are just some of the reasons that you are seeing good sellers leave the site Ebay- now is the time to STOP onboarding and fix the issues- every new person that you force in has the same bad experience and then tells 3 other people-
Actually make it simpler, cheaper, more transparent, faster, or at least as good as Paypal was before losing more of our sellers/buyers ebay
Managed payments has been the exact opposite of what ebay promised for 3 years

Find the fees page based on the type of store you have and print it for ease of use, trying to find it is rough. Keep an eye on your fees (%) last 3 sales have had the wrong amount taken out to the tune of just about $100. Got on the phone and luckily had representatives that were competent and able to get me a credit for the fees, not the actual cash to go in my account but hey it is better than not getting my $.

Be aware that the gross transaction amount in the Payments Transactions report may not exactly match the sales price in the Orders report. I tried to report this bug months ago on the now closed Managed Payments board but I do not know if it was ever fixed.
