Ebay taking over the sellers accounts to move profits to the seller's bank instead of to PayPal.

It's typical of a company to change things that were just fine. I've been using eBay for 15 years and now, it's like the old adage: "If it ain't broke, fix it til it is!"

In Paypal, I'd get my money immediately and could transfer it to my bank in less than one minute. It usually showed up in the bank in minutes. NOW . . . I'm told by Ebay, it could take one to four days for it to show up in my bank! **bleep**, how is that helping me?

And they say it'll keep business closer to home. By routing our banking business through Europe? Really?

That and the new seller page, another mess; it all just disgusts me . . .

Since Pay Pal will no longer be an option for sellers, it's Managed Payments or nothing.

Have a great day.

Seller: My steak is overcharged.
Customer Service: I'll file a dispute.
Bank: Why do you keep eating there?
Seller: The discounts.

Nothing sounds good.

It is just a different way to handle your money.  I too prefer PP, but I didn't have a problem adapting to MP.  There are things I certainly don't like about it, but I can work with it and hope they bring the improvements sooner rather than later.  I do weekly deposits and they go smoothly for me.

Thanks for your input. My problem is, that eBay wants me to front money from my personal bank account to pay for shipping, BEFORE I get the money in my account. I charge for shipping and when a customer pays for shipping it should be able to get their purchase shipped quickly. I'm sorry but I'm not shipping a product until I get paid. That's the business way. But now ebay wants me to pay and ship an item while they hold on to my money for two to four more days. I find that appalling. Just try to find any other business on the internet that will ship out a purchased product before getting paid for it. See the logic. Terrible business and ebay just dumped that in our lap.

That isn't accurate if you create your shipping labels through Ebay.  You have a choice when you create the label.  You can have it funded through MP or through your PP account.  Seller choice.  Once you make your selection all your future labels will default to that payment method until such time as you change it.

MP Funding a Label.JPG

When a buyer issues a payment, at that time MP pings the funding source for the payment to make sure that the payment will be approved.  The buyer, once they make their payment has no ability to cancel, adjust or otherwise change or stop the payment in MP or PP.  Buyers have never had that ability.

Once the payment is made by the buyer, MP takes 1-2 days to actually get the money moved from the funding source to your MP account.  Then it moves to Available for transfer.  It will transfer on the next Business day if you are on Daily deposits or on Tuesdays if you are on Weekly deposits.

Once the transfer is released into the ACH banking system, the banks are in control of the transfer, not MP.  This process may take 1-4 days for the money to arrive at your bank.  Smaller more local banks may take longer than a larger more main stream bank.

Thanks again for your reply. Though, I am a bit confused about paying for the shipping. I always create my labels in ebay, but I don't understand how the change to PayPal "paying with pending payouts," works. Does this mean that ebay ensures the funding for the shipping label is covered, even before the buyers money gets to my bank account?  If so, I would like that better. But, does that mean that my PayPal will pay for the shipping label if I don't have the sellers money in PayPal? Still a little confused.

Yes.  It is as it states, the shipping is covered via your MP account.

No if you want the shipping deducted from your MP account, PP is NOT involved at all.

It is your choice.  If you want the money for shipping deducted from your MP account, then select that option.

If you prefer your shipping is deducted from your PP account, select that option.  But yes, you will need to make sure you keep your PP account funded to cover any of these costs you process.

I think you are over thinking it.
